My son loves his kindergarten class and his teacher Miss Hannah. As a former NLSD school district employee, I was apprehensive about sending my son out of the district for kindergarten. I can honestly say it was the best decision and he is learning/thriving. We are only a few weeks in and Kiddie Academy's curriculum is exceeding my expectations. The most important part is that my son loves going every morning. Thanks Kiddie Academy of New Lenox!

You can tell no one wants to be there and kids are basically on their own especially the little ones. No one tried to show any emotion or consolation towards my little one during this adjustment which only made it harder for them. Kids were left crying at drop off and teachers would just roll their eyes as they would watch them cry. Instead of helping them and trying to calm them down. Also kids were not being fed enough. Very limited portions and would not offer seconds. I do not understand why people keep bringing their kids here or why no one else notices these issues. Stay far far away

I…read morechose this school because I felt that the Montessori style would be good for our kids, and I really liked the family-type atmosphere at Frankfort. With my oldest daughter graduating from Montessori Kindergarten this year, I can say without hesitation that the curriculum, the teachers and the environment at Montessori have been instrumental in shaping the confident, intelligent, respectful little girl that she is today. I am continually amazed at how much they have learned - my Kindergartner reads at a 3rd grade level and my 4 year old reads at a 2nd grade level. The teachers genuinely care about the children and they do a fantastic job of nurturing each child's natural talents and strengths, as well as giving the them them the tools and confidence to develop their weaknesses.

There is a club for just about any/every interest. The school is very large and competitive on both an academic and sports level. NNHS offers tons of options for career exploration so students can tap into their interests and find out where they may want to go after high school. For many coming out of NNHS this means getting a college degree however NNHS does educate students on options outside of the traditional college route. NNHS provides students with the tools necessary to be successful in and after high school.

Not only does every staff member know my daughter's name personally, they also greet my husband and I by name at pick up and drop off. It is truly a Kiddie Academy family. All the teachers are great at communication and you receive several picture updates throughout the day. When my daughter was younger, her teachers would chat with me through the app and ease any questions or concerns I had. Our daughter has transitioned into the toddler room but still loves her infant room teachers and I think that says a lot about the impact they have made. I'm writing this for both the school and the church because they really are a single institution…read more The school is K through 8. The staff is good overall but I know they have a difficult time finding and keeping talented teachers. Most of the really good teachers gravitate to public schools with higher pay. The biggest problem is that some of the math teachers are terrible. It will be interesting to see if any changes are made to personnel in the future. The school has a high enrollment. With this high enrollment comes problems though. The school has some cliques. I know this is a problem at many schools also. There are some families that have taken over all of the parent groups. Whether its the Family Board, the School Board, the Athlete Board, Carnival Board, Facilities Board, the same people are holding power and doing favors for each other. It's nauseating. I suppose if you are in the right clique then everything will be fine. If you are not in the right clique then your children will be treated as second class citizens. I've seen alumni of the school get blackballed because they did not play nice with the power families. Maybe I'm getting carried away but it can be unnerving. The church is nice. It's not the fanciest church in the area but it is clean and inviting. The pastor is always asking for more money but name me a church that isn't asking for money. You can get married, baptized, and have funerals here. There is a big parking lot and they installed a playground which looks really nice. So here are your choices: Send your kids to public school, St Catherine, St Linus, St Gerald, and St Germaine. The good thing is that there are many choices in the Oak Lawn area for elementary education. You will do good with any of them.
