Dr. Hines saw us after his last appointment and was the only person in the building but worked with us to say goodbye at the right time the right way despite the constraints of him being alone in the building after hours. We will be forever grateful for his willingness to help us say goodbye in a way we can feel couldn't have been done any better for her based on the dog she was and the condition she was in at the time it was happening the way it was. As an RN who has worked in many areas of medicine and as a patient I can truly say that I wish there were more doctors with the qualities and characteristics that this doctor displays. The office staff is friendly, loving and kind. Dr Dionisio and his staff have seen me in the best of times and in the worst of times. Every single visit was the same. I stated why I am there, my babies were examined professionally, and courteously, and I was spoken to the same. I always leave there feeling secure in the diagnosis and care of my loved one. The doctor takes his time to speak with me, to explain, to make sure I understand the condition, illness, or preventive care that needs to be given. Dr. Dionisio calls me to check in on my Cassie and Buddy when they are ill and did so with my beloved Princess and Ms. Fluffy. To say that this is exceptional care is truly an understatement. From routine office visits, to sick visits, for ear cleaning with a very tough Shitzu, to surgery, returning calls in a timely fashion, making excellent diagnosis and referral recommendations this is the only veterinary practice on Staten Island I would trust my furbabies to. After recently losing my mother to colon cancer and taking over ownership and responsibility of our dog Big Boy (Who we had rescued) I brought him in because he was no longer able to walk and had a host of other issues a week before. Me and my sister had very little money after the funeral and we couldn't afford to even get him bloodwork or an xray to find out what was wrong. Dr. Armia Gabriel is the kindest and most honest vet I have ever had the pleasure of speaking with. He waived the fees on an xray of Big Boy and did it for free so that we would have the peace of mind of knowing what was wrong with him because at that point we knew we would have to put him down rather then have him suffer. After thorough examination it was revealed that Big Boy was suffering with spleen cancer that of which caused his stomach to fill with blood and caused him to be anemic which explains the sudden loss of his leg function. We had decided to put Big Boy down and it was a very very tough ordeal... He had been my moms best friend since he came into her life and was by her until the second she passed on. Dr. Armia Gabriel and his team were so kind to him sticking with him and us through is final breath. The doctor has absolutely no personality, nor do the techs. How do you not be happy when you see a little tail wagging in a 9-week-old lab? They tested her for parasites, and the test came back negative. I brought her to my vet shortly thereafter for my own peace of mind, and her parasite test came back positive. Not only that, my own vet was lying on the floor giving the puppy love and getting to know her. You will not get this at Central Jersey. I recommend finding a different vet.

I have an 11 month old duck toller puppy. I brought him to Atlantic Highlands vet since he was 4…read moremonths old. Shots and neutering were fine here. A few weeks ago my dog broke his toe and when I brought him in they told me he needed surgery and there was a risk his toe needed to be amputated. We were referred to Garden State where we went the next day to fine out no surgery necessary and also no amputation. He was put in a splint and given a 4 week healing period by Garden State. I called Atlantic Highlands Vet to schedule getting my dogs splint changed every week and they said they would have to sedate him each time to change the splint. That he wasn't calm when he was x-rayed so sedation was necessary for splint change. I did not agree with weekly sedation for 4 weeks to change a splint, so have been going to garden state each week and they are changing it without sedation no problem. Today I called Atlantic highlands because I just got my dogs splint changed at garden state yesterday and something is bending strange. So I asked Atlantic highlands if they could have a look today since they are so much closer to me than garden state. I explained we have had 3 splint changes at garden state without sedation and still today they would not see me to help me without sedation. I could understand if my dog was vicious at all but he's a puppy and has been totally fine for garden state. I asked Atlantic highlands to email me ny dog's paperwork and I will never go back.

They're aware of all the social cues and quirks of our big guys & gals, and do their very best to work with the dog in front of them rather than conforming the dog to their needs and/or expectations. My 1 y/o female EM has a bit of stranger danger and Dr. Morgan spent nearly half of our appointment just talking to me nearby her and letting her warm up before proceeding with an exam or any procedures. During these covid times I wasn't allowed in the office, but my girl happily pranced in and out with Dr. Morgan and her staff (this was her first time at this office). I had zero qualms about her riding solo, as her expression going in and out said it all. Their prices are fair and quality of care is paramount. Dr. Morgan and her staff are extremely personable and easy to work with. Look no further for your giant's veterinary needs!

The place looked poorly maintained and the flooring in the exam room was broken which left me nervous about my dog's paws. The vet tech couldn't really answer any of my questions. What sealed it for me was that when the vet came in the room and put my dog on the scale, asked ME if that was normal for her breed... I was like "you tell me" which he took a guess. Unfortunately I won't be back because I'd like to make sure you can do the bare minimum to make sure my dog is properly cared for at every stage of life.
