I had higher hopes for this place based on reviews. However, when I arrived to make a to go order…read more There was no one around. Once someone showed up they tried to take my order and talk to the guy behind me at the same time. I asked for a taco salad sour cream on the side and sopaipillas' with the ice cream on the side as well. When I got my food. Neither one had the items on the side. There was a large section of sour cream on the salad and ice cream melting all over my sopaipillas. I told them I had asked for those items on the side and they just looked at me and said, what, do you want us to fix it? I said yes. When I got it back they had taken a spoon and just scraped the items off the side of the food. Once I started to eat my taco salad. I mixed it up and it looked and had the texture of baby food. Just not worth the money or time.

Despite some of the negative reviews I saw on here, I found Tio's to be decent--not the best place…read morein town, but it was fine. My chicken fajitas came out piping hot and the chicken was cooked properly. Strangely enough, I found it to be a bit underseasoned, when usually the opposite is true at many Mexican places. Beans and rice were good, so were the chips and tortillas. Portions were plenty big. I also really liked their salsa picosa (spicy salsa) which is available upon request--I'm guessing its a mix of smoky chipotle and chile de arbol peppers. I would definitely not have a problem coming back again, especially if I was staying at the hotels next door.

We waited at least 10 minutes before our server appeared. Fortunately we weren't in a hurry. Our drinks didn't take long but since there was hardly anyone in the place, at least two people that appeared to be managers and 4-5 servers it seemed a little long for beer. Our order came out quickly but the chicken was cold and tough. Perhaps left over from lunch rush- it was 12:45- and microwaved. Our slider burgers were NOT cooked. In addition to this our server appeared to be high as a kite or on some type of medication that I might want to know about. A typical Chili's vibe but the music was way too loud for time of day and noise in the restaurant. I am not old, would like to have a conversation, or perhaps that is why the music is loud. To get you out the door. When we left all but two servers were standing around a booth talking to a friend. Not against socializing on the job but there were people obviously waiting to order/check out. Don't waste your time or money.
