I was the only person at the counter, and there was one person sitting at a table. There were three employees behind the counter. My order was simple, just a sandwich and side of mac & cheese. I sat down at the nearest table and waited. And waited. And waited. Finally I went back to the counter, thinking maybe my order hadn't been sent to the kitchen. I approached the same employee who had taken my order, and she asked if I had ordered. I said yes, and she looked confused. I reminded her of what I had ordered. She talked to another employee who looked around and found my order sitting with a couple of other orders. He did apologize for letting it sit there and said they should have called out my name. My sandwich was good but not hot like it would have been if it hadn't been left sitting.

My husband (active duty Marine) and I were visiting from North Carolina and I brought him here because this location used to be one of my favorites when I lived in the area. Unfortunately, this visit did not reflect the Hoosier hospitality I used to associate with this restaurant. None of the two employees we primarily interacted with were wearing name tags. For clarity, I'll refer to the brunette employee with glasses as "Sally" and the bearded employee wearing a manager shirt as "Mike." We arrived around 11:30 AM. There was no line. While we looked at the menu for a few minutes, we were asked if we were ready to order three separate times in very quick succession by the same two employees. This alone wasn't a major issue, but it set an awkward tone. When ordering, Sally asked if I wanted a drink. I showed her the water I already had and declined. She handed me a large cup anyway (we were not charged). When I attempted friendly conversation and mentioned we were visiting and that this location used to be a favorite of mine, she did not respond beyond a brief "okay," and did not engage further. My husband ordered a lemonade, which employees fill. He stood waiting with his empty cup while Sally walked away without taking it. Mike then came out and said he would get it after delivering food, but rolled his eyes while saying this. That behavior from someone in a management role was surprising and felt unprofessional. During our visit, Mike personally ran food to nearly every other table and checked back with multiple guests about food quality and satisfaction. Despite making eye contact with us multiple times, he never checked on our table. Notably, our order was the only one he did not run. Sally brought our food instead. She appeared unsure where it belonged, walked around the dining room briefly, then brought it to us. I thanked her and received no response. Throughout our meal we observed Sally looking toward our table multiple times from the counter area and quickly looking away. Mike continued to check on surrounding tables but avoided our entire row of booths, including ours. To be clear: the food quality itself was very good. The concern here is the inconsistency in guest interaction and the professionalism of the service experience compared to other tables around us. As someone who recommended this location based on past positive experiences, this visit was disappointing and honestly a bit embarrassing since it was my husband's first time visiting. I'm sharing this because this location clearly has the potential to be great again, but the service experience we had does not currently match the quality of the food. Edited by CGPT to fit the allowed character limit Photo because I know manager Mike will remember the guy he was clearly so irritated to have to help.

I'm a Jimmy John's fan, they're one of my go-to sub shops when I need a quick bite. This location…read morein Whitestown is underrated in my opinion. The shop is clean and the staff is friendly. Service is freaky fast, as advertised. And the sandwiches are affordable. I stopped by for a tuna on whole wheat. I was expecting a whole wheat sub bun, but they put it on whole wheat bread, which was fine. The bread was fresh and the tuna was piled high. It was one of the best tuna sandwiches I've had recently. They added pickles, lettuce and tomato per my request, but the tuna was the star. The tuna salad was creamy, moist and filling. I sat at the counter by the door, which was a bit drafty. As I sat, I watched the crew serve others. They were consistently friendly and efficient. The dining area is colorful with multiple table options. There is parking in the strip mall. I'll be back and I recommend.

However, while waiting for my food, I noticed something very concerning: there were several flies trapped inside the container holding the sliced bread. I immediately brought it to the attention of a team member. He saw the flies too, opened the container to let them out, and then closed it again, leaving the same bread out in plain sight as if nothing had happened. A couple of minutes passed, and I asked if he was the manager. He confirmed that he was. I then asked if he planned to remove the contaminated bread, and he said yes; but still didn't do anything right away. Eventually, I left the restaurant and waited in my car. From outside, I could still see inside the restaurant, and only then did he finally remove the bread container and place it on a rack in the back. This situation was disappointing, especially coming from someone in a management role. Food safety should always be a top priority, and in this case, it clearly wasn't. I hope the management team takes this seriously and addresses it with proper training moving forward.

The Food and drinks is where I was a bit underwhelmed. The alcoholic beverages we order seemed really really sweet. That says something because I'm from Hawaii and I know sweet drinks lol We didn't get to order past the lobster and shrimp dip appetizer because when we got their appetizer it was REALLY salty. Typically that's how I see if I'm going to order more food if the appetizer is good. But as mentioned if was early salty and maybe had 1 pc of tiny lobster. lol so we decided to leave. Not sure if I'll come back because I was only in town visiting family.

On my most recent visitation there were fifteen bikers enjoying a mid-ride bean kick. This coffee isn't good, but it doesn't matter, it's the spot to congregate. Third space final boss. I'll keep it simple for the rookies to understand why this place absolutely crushes: STEP #1: Go to Big Dave's Deli STEP #2: Order his sandwich STEP #3: Savor the price, wolf the grub STEP #4: Enter into a hash brown scented coma At one point in time some quartet of old dudes played euchre here enough to make their wives jealous.
