My "Go-To" at times, if I want to be lazy, is either Tropical Smoothie Cafe or even Wawa. However, I get some excellent suggestions from my fellow Yelp Elites, or even my closest friends. With that in mind, my close friend, Paula, told me about a new smoothie/coffee/health bar location she passes by every time she goes to work called Mermazing Nutrition. Since I take creedence to her suggestions and it is a smoothie place, I had to check it out. Paula, thank you for the suggestion because Mermazing Nutrition (which I will shorthand to simply Mermazing for the remainder of this review) is overall, in general, an amazing business with an amazing owner/operator running it. Though an address is given, I must stress more details on its location as many people might miss it. It is located on Babcock St., on the west side of the street and just north of Tropical Smoothie Cafe in between Fay Blvd. and Hibiscus Blvd. If it further helps, it is next door to Jimmy John's. The locale itself is kinda smallish, but I discern most people come in to get their orders and be on their way moreso than stay. However, it being smallish means it is cozy, and the cozy atmosphere is kinda simplistic with splashes of personality which includes the picture background which has become a popular trend amongst businesses, especially restaurants, as of late. There are a couple of tables and chairs for those who choose to sit in and enjoy what Mermazing has to offer, and there is a long, leather (?) couch people can sit on, too. As for the menu, what I saw were mutliple variations of smoothies and teas. I didn't see any food options, so take note of that as you come here. They have a normal range of protein shakes, iced coffees, and loaded teas. The standouts are their specialty menu which are drinks specified by Mermazing. They also have unique names like "Daisy Dukes," "Yellowstone," "Pretty n' Pink," and "Snakebite." You'll have to ask what each shake has to specifically offer though. The Extreme Rebuild is an amazing post-workout shake that includes almost 40 grams of whey protein, BCAAs, and L-glutamine. Finally, the "Kitchen Sink" literally has all the supplements you can add to any smoothie, in the smoothie. So imagine a smoothie with all the add-on ingredients and vitamins you can add. That is it. Would be cool if they served the drink in-house with a miniature kitchen sink, though. Ultimately, patrons have to understand this is a storefront for a representative of Herbalife. Julann is your local representative for Herbalife, which I will admit is a great product, but there are others out there that may or may not be good or better for you. What I like about Julann is that she doesn't "bully sell" Herbalife, mocking or insulting other options. She does her best to promote Herbalife, concentrating on that compared to belittling the competition. So overall, I am very impressed with Mermazing. True the price might be higher compared to a Wawa, but for a local business, it is actually really good and fair. The lack of food might be seen as an issue, but Mermazing doesn't try to promote or push that it sells such. Besides, anyone wanting food can stop by the Jimmy John's next door or go elsewhere. That is not what Mermazing promotes or offers. I will give Mermazing an overall score of four out of five stars. If I return a couple more times and they are just as good or even better, I will definitely give them their fifth star for consistency.

However, there is one Kavasutra that stands out simply because one of their workers there makes it a location I say goes above and beyond the typical Kavasutra experience: Kavasutra Melby (Melbourne, FL). And that one worker, the "Kava Queen" (maybe I should remove the quotations because she really pushes her moniker), Shannon. First and foremost, everything from my initial review is still in effect in general, but let me talk to you about Shannon. She's the kavatender with the most tenure at this kava joint, and she holds it down. Very friendly and approachable and as mentioned earlier, able to hold a good conversation and be civil. Shannon is also a fantastic kavatender. Unlike some who just sling shells, she actually did a great job with the mocktails, which seems as if not many of the patrons order them by how it seems. The first one she got me was by accident called the "Elder Drop" which consists of pineapple, elderflower, lemon juice, ginger ale, and Shane's Addiction, their kratom blend. Though it was a screwup, it was fantastic. So delicious. Now the one I wanted, the Key Lime Pie Drop, consisted of French vanilla, peppermint, lime juice, ginger ale, and Shane's Addiction. It as so good! Overall, well for me, Shannon is the main reason I am giving this location not just its fourth star, but a rarity fifth star for a chain business. Tropical Smoothie Cafe- Indian Harbour Beach, FL- 3 Stars…read more As I glanced down at the name blinking on my name generator, I came to the conclusion that like all repeated tasks and movements, my long foray into the world of chain reviews is going to continue as I was headed to the Tropical Smoothie Cafe location in Indian Harbour Beach, FL. With 850 locations nationwide, it is easy to see how they survived the nationwide COVID mandated lockdowns and state-wide mandates still in effect in some states. Upon entering I wasn't immediately wowed by the décor. It was pleasant enough, but nothing spectacular. No lights were on so it was very dark and unpleasant. I also noticed that they were apparently very COVID conscience as 6 feet spacing is still the standard and all employees were masked. The employees were friendly, competent and showed up to work, so "yay" for them! I placed an order for an avocado grilled cheese, a Baja chicken wrap and a Triple Berry Oat Smoothie. The food was ready in no time and I snapped a few pictures before the taste test began. As you can see, the food looked edible enough and while I didn't include a picture of the smoothie, imagine if you will, a berry-looking smoothie looking freshly blended. I found the avocado grilled cheese to be a pleasant twist on an old American favorite for today's beard and sandal crowd. It was grilled to perfection and was lubriciously delivered to my taste buds via the natural avocado oil and I found this delightful. If you are a regular reader you should recall my review of Da Kine Diego's. If not, let me remind you or inform you if you are new to the fact that this is easily the worst operating slop house in all of Brevard. I mention this only as the Baja chicken wrap was a step above Da Kine's sludge by a smidgen owing to the fresh greens and flavor they contributed to the dish. Other than that, it was just this side of edible. The Triple Berry Oat smoothie was exceedingly enjoyable. You could tell it was assembled with perfervidity and the berry mix was the fronting flavor. For not being made from fresh ingredients (nothing here is cooked, it is all combined) it was just this side of captivating on the palate.
