Tropical smoothie is prolly one of my favorite places to go for lunch to get a quick bite and maybe a smoothie. I work near this location and prolly for the last few months, a couple of times I have comes here during my lunch break, but I don't normally take or get a long lunch break, so I call in my order to get it started. However the last time I called in my order they said they don't do that, and the guy that picked up the phone was literally arguing saying they never did it. Even though I told him I normally call in my order but he wasn't having it. I told him I literally work 5-10 away and I was literally on my way driving when I called it in but ended up saying he couldn't do that. So I literally drove there, places my order and prolly like 2-3 other people were ahead of me. Didn't get my food for like 25-30min. I'm just wondering why you would say you don't take call in orders when like every single restaurant and food place does it, including every other tropical smoothie. It's just so stupid, to me why anyone would do this, but due to my last visit... We usually get smoothies here all the time, but yesterday when we got our Mango Magic smoothie, we noticed that it was a little rough on our throats. Meh, we figure, maybe it's just cold? When we get home, I take another drink of it and bite down on something hard. I spit it out - it's a piece of plastic - clear, long, kind of like a fish bone, if I had to compare it to something. Still, I give them the benefit of the doubt, figure - could be an honest accident? No. The ENTIRE smoothie was filled with these plastic, spine-like things - as though a blender was broken and the blade continuously shaved off the side of the blender. Now, today, we both have terrible stomach aches because we both had drank at least 1/5 of the smoothie before noticing what was in it. Faulty equipment or not, this is easily something that some one could sue over - and if the smoothie had been given to someone younger? A child? It could seriously hurt them and damage their esophagus or cause them to choke. There is no excuse for this - if you are too lazy/cheap to keep up your equipment then you don't deserve all these 5 stars that I am seeing on here. We will never come back. read more

Having been here several times, I'm watching the establishment decline. Staff is not neat and clean in appearance, there are no hair nets worn, they do not wear aprons, often are handling money to then prepare and make a smoothie but they are not washing their hands, the food prep surfaces are not well kept; disgusting actually. The place smells of fermented fruit and there is usually small mountains of fruit on the floor at any given time of the day. The first time I encountered it was around 8 p.m. & I even inquired about it and was told that this is what the process looks like for breakdown prior to closing. Tropical smoothies are pretty much all the same. This one happened to be extremely busy today, but it was understandable with the warm weather. The place was a bit too dirty and messy because of the amount of foot traffic. However, the staff were quick and polite, which is always a plus. They also didn't add the spinach to my smoothie which I paid extra for and didn't give me my spinach and apple coleslaw. CROOKS. Do NOT order from here unless you want to be robbed. Ok fine that happens, but they didn't tell me one of the main ingredients of my smoothie was out and still made it and let me leave with it! This particular location is very consistent with the amiability of the staff so I return a couple of times a month for lunch. Today I ate the Cuban sandwich on pressed bread and was somewhat satisfied, so if I were selecting the number of stars I'd say three, but the service is great so they earn a four. The issue with the sandwich is the quantity of the meat for the price. Had it been a $1.50 cheaper I wouldn't complain. Adding peppers would've earned another star too. I am very impressed with this TS. This store is located in close proximity to numerous military bases and is thusly a very popular lunch spot for many young soldiers, airman, sailors and marines. In spite of that heavy daily volume the friendly staff at this TS efficiently churns through the orders eliminating extraneous wait times. My visit to this particular TSC location has always been mediocre when it comes to service. Floors are sticky with a not so pleasant smell in the air. Yesterday a friend and I went in for a quick grab and go. But that was not the case 45 mins later and having to repeat my order twice to two different smoothie makers, order was filled. This was with a not so busy time in the day. But while I waited I noticed others got their orders before me. In fact my friend actually placed his order after I placed mine. He placed a sandwich and smoothie order while I only had a smoothie placed separately. During that 45 min wait other customers came in to eat. It got packed with customers. The manager, stopped taking new orders for 10mins, in an attempt to get caught up. It was frustrating none the less. Won't be recommending this location for a bit. Someone call the health department! I was greeted with the smell of what can only be described as vomit and sticky floors. They make the smoothies in full view of anyone that cares to look and the floors behind the counter where they make the smoothies were wet and had food that must have fallen that had clumped in the corners. The extra large trashcan behind the counter was overflowing! Bananas were in an open container on the counter where customers pick up. Spinach was on a cart next to the smoothie bar area with an open container of peanut butter next to it (not chilled) and water was running in the sink, but I didn't see anyone clean a blender. Just yuck! Call Bar Rescue because this place needs it. Credit to the staff though because they were all polite and seemed to want to do a good job, but may have been overwhelmed. I'm a big fan of tropical smoothie but this location needs some serious work. To start, as I entered I was greeted with a horrible aroma, smelled like rancid food. They took my order and were curt, no smiles or anything just a very short and unpleasant vibe. Got the smoothies in about 5 minutes, and then sat and waited for over HALF AN HOUR, for a quesadilla and wrap. Then they made the quesadilla wrong, we ordered with no chicken annnnd they made it with chicken, waited another 15 minutes for the quesadilla to be remade. I walked up to online order pickup line and wasn't greeted or even asked if I needed help. I do understand that I was coming during there busiest time (lunch time), but at least a "I'll be right with you" would have been nice. I love going to tropical smoothie but this location is terrible. I order the same wrap every time and every other time they barley give me and jerk sauce on my wrap. It's really dry and not pleasant at all to eat! Today I ordered online and again got a jerk wrap with no chicken to take with me to work for my dinner. When I was finally able to eat the wrap I was very disappointed! I barely had sauce up there and it was very dry. My wrap was also more like a burrito. After I discovered this I instantly tried to call them and of course I got no answer at all. I tried calling at least 6 different times and got no answer at all.
