I always selected a giant chicken bacon ranch spud for my son. I ordered using the app, it was easy and the delivery time wasn't too bad. This place is close to 33rd Avenue So, so need for delivery. You might miss the entrance for pickups via online ordering, like I did, but it's there. I drive up, wait a few minutes and finally a young lady comes to the window. She asks what's the name, I give it. She hands me the package and off I go. Let's just say there wasn't any...warmth for a greeting or much else. I remember things like this. PR is huge. Ok, I get home we unload and here's what we thought of this food. Beef dip: this was huge and loaded with beef. The sandwich has a pickle wrapped in the packaging right along with the sandwich. The au jus was too salty. I couldn't taste much else but the salt. The Caesar was ok, nothing fancy but ok. Cuban sandwich: the amount of meat on this sandwich was amazing, however a Cuban sandwich is typically toasted, and this was definitely toasted and was soggy on the bottom. That's a shame because the sandwich was just so-so due to this. The potato salad was very good per my husband's view. Giant spud: Holy smokes. Just know you can share this with a few people and you should; this monster is too big for one person; unless you know, you can eat all of one of these and then I sincerely will bow down to you for sure. These are huge and loaded with toppings. Really very, very good. Total for our order was 56.44. Listen, I can't do this kind of order all of the time, but would I do this again (maybe not so soon but...) yes, I would. The amount of food that you get is plentiful and when I feel like treating myself and my family again I will. I gave this a 3 because, everywhere I go, I believe that good PR and representation is huge. The girl at the window gave no indication that she would even attempt to be friendly. Bummer. I spend over $500 dollars alone at these stores monthly. 13th avenue location employees are courteous and professional! recently I used the app to order ahead at the 45th st location. I got there to pick up my order (17 dollars after tipping like every day I go up to 3 times a day) and there was a young woman new manager working and before I could even politely ask if they had n order for me she yelled towards me "we threw out your order, you can buy another one if you want but you have to pay for it." ..... I didn't get much of n answer besides rude yelling refusing to say anything besides it's "your fault that we threw it away" (btw never say that to a customer in service industry). I'm not a confrontational person so I went to the til to pay for an another order (for my 3rd order of that day already). and realized I didnt bring my wallet since I already paid for my order on the app (the one that the new manager blames me for her tossing it). I quietly walked out of the store went to the 13th ave location and got my order FREE OF CHARGE and they apologized for the rude manager and terribly embarrassing service and customer interaction at the 45th location. I should've reached out to the owner after the next time I went back and the rudeness and sarcastic remarks i was greeted with a couple days later. I can't decide if I'm going to stop going to tropical in fargo all together until this unacceptable confrontation is handled and hopefully eventually I can receieve my order that I already paid for.. (The issue only revolves around 2 newish employees who refused to tell me their names but they're both heavier set and the manager dark complection is the one who told me she is the manager when I kindly asked for a manager the day I went there (even though she refused to even tell me her name and also said she's not allowed to give out her boss's name LOL.. wonder why she was saying this. But I hope the boss goes to look at cameras for himself because the fact that she even has a job means she had her co workers along with herself fabricate confrontation that day." Besides those 2 employees the other especially the ladies who have been there for a long while are phenomal staff! Not until a few months ago had the staff had some serious problems. I go to Tropical Smoothie Cafe often, but usually go to the 25th street location. I won't go back to the 45th street location. The entire place smells like shit. Dirty dishes and tables all over the lobby long before any type of lunch rush. And don't even try to use a restroom here as it is totally evident that the staff of fat slobs don't attend to or clean the facilities. Gross. read more
