Since Waffle House opened its first location back on September 5, 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia, it quickly established itself by offering a consistent selection of food and by being open twenty-four hours a day. This particular location was next to my hotel. All in all, this was a good location with friendly service. For me, the biggest appeal of Waffle House has always been their hash browns, which you can get basic or topped with a variety of toppings such as chili, white sausage gravy, cheese, ham, onions and so many more items and you can combine these toppings in a multitude of ways. For my main course, I have usually gone with their patty melts or one of their egg breakfast options. I myself can see the strangeness that I have never had a waffle in a business where waffle is in their very name, but I prefer a more savory breakfast than a sweet one. If you are in the southeast United States, odds are you have probably passed a Waffle House location. It seems that they are on almost every major highway exit ramp and strategically placed throughout most cities and towns in the southeast. If you see one, give them a try.

We were seated right away, but almost every table in the place was packed. Our server greeted us pretty quickly and got our beverage order started. My husband stuck with coffee and I got one of the energizer beverages the morning sunrise that includes elderflower tonic, orange juice, and period strawberry. It was delicious. I chose to order the breakfast burrito with fruit as my side. The fruit was incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. There were a lot of grapes and it would've been nice to have some more of the melon but overall it was delicious. Breakfast burrito was nice and tasty. I would've liked a little bit more meat in it but again it was still delicious. My husband crafted his own breakfast and got bacon with some eggs and the French toast. I remember from my youth what a fancy experience a banana split was and look at how the world evolved, lol. At Dairy queen, they offer the basic flavors as opposed to a gazillion flavors at other places might offer. However, vanilla is still a very good choice for me and this was an overall positive experience. Overall, I enjoyed my visit here and I enjoyed the ice cream. I have not had their fast food burgers or anything in years, but I've always enjoyed Dairy Queen ice cream. It was a visit to childhood, as well as being an enjoyable break and delicious dessert now as an adult.
