I had a very disappointing experience at Tropical Smoothie Cafe. The atmosphere in this location feels unwelcoming the moment you walk in. There is little to no customer service. No greeting, no acknowledgment, and the staff give off an attitude that makes it seem like customers are an inconvenience rather than the reason the business exists. The employees appear to bring a very unprofessional, street type attitude into the workplace. Instead of creating a friendly environment, the vibe inside the store feels uncomfortable and unfriendly. What makes it worse is the wait time. Even when the store is nearly empty, orders take an excessive amount of time. Waiting around 30 minutes for a smoothie or simple food order when you are the only person in the store is unacceptable. Businesses like this should understand that many of their customers come through delivery platforms and online orders. Those platforms help drive traffic and revenue. When service is slow and staff show no urgency or professionalism, it reflects poorly on the business. This location seriously needs improvements in customer service, professionalism, and efficiency. When I first heard of a Tropical Smoothie I was estatic as I was a frequent visitor to the ones in Long Island. Needless to say the service is nowhere near the same. When you first enter, you feel like you're a bother because NO ONE acknowledges you. I don't say that to say that I need a hello as soon as I enter but it seems like they spend quite some time taking orders and fulfilling them without saying anything to anyone. THEN recently this week I ordered on the app to just pick up when I arrive. Why did I show up and not only did they not have my order, they didn't have ANYTHING. I was told they can only make 3 options of smoothies. They told me that did not receive their shipment so they did not have the inventory. Sounds like a lack of proper planning on their part. I was initially in disbelief but was so pleased to find out that there is a Tropical Smoothie Cafe in the great borough of Brooklyn. I fell in love with these deliciously thick smoothies in Long Island and now able to continue this love affair without a trip down the Belt Parkway. The smoothies are still the perfect consistency of thick without being chunky. My go-to is the Açaí Berry Smoothie. The service is still on point and quick. This location is bigger with several tables to eat at if you are so inclined. I will stop always stop in when I'm in the area and I recommend everyone to do the same! read more

The smoothies are hands down the best out of any smoothie shop i've tried - from manhattan to Brooklyn. They're delicious, fresh, and love the combinations. They also give you a really decently sized smoothie.
