Although it was a bit cold and windy out, it was still a good time. I was able to purchase coffee from the coffee truck, Argentinian empanadas, and a goat milk soap. Jonathon showed us to each vendor and described what each tent had to offer, how long the market had been around. The cooking demo was great. Chef Jazzy explained her background, being trained at the Culinary Institute of America. She demonstrated how to properly cut a pineapple, grill it, to bring out its natural sweetness. The king trumpet mushrooms were an alternative vegetarian to "scallops", everything prepared was delicious! This was such a great idea to use produce and seafood sourced from the market. I will try to return to this Farmer's Market to support the local businesses.

There used to be this one manager, I believe his name was Lonnie who ran the store - he was a decent manager. I haven't seen him in a while but I think he has been replaced by this guy called Butler I think. I had the misfortune of having to deal with this Mr. Butler when I was having an issue with the attitude of the people working in deli. They called Mr. Butler over to help assist me, and he was nothing but unprofessional and rude. He completely disregarded everything I said, looked at me like I was stupid, and when he walked away from me, I overheard him calling me "white trash" to a fellow employee. I knew exactly what he said, and I informed him that I was gonna call corporate for his unprofessional management skills and his racist remark - he just looked at me again like I was stupid and simply walked away. I really do wonder if Kroger actually trains their store managers properly, because I've never been treated in such a way all my years shopping there.

I seen her sorting things and I thought maybe it was more urgent than me waiting in line, but when the pharmacist asked her if she helped me she claimed "I ignored her," which was her reason for making me wait so long, when I didn't even know she spoke to me to begin with so I stood there sickly because she "assumed" I ignored her. Overall i would give the 'pharmacist' 5 stars I would because I appreciate him for his help. But the tech was unprofessional so zero stars to her!!!

How about the location. The hearth is BEAUTIFUL! It boasts water views with seating, plenty of green space for the kiddos and pups, a neighborhood pool, and of course a hearth, where you'll usually find a live musician and kiddos playing various outdoor games. The market is intimate and growing, twinkling lights help it sparkle after dark, but the real heart of this market is the people. The vendors are vetted, local, and incredibly knowledgeable. From coffee (with samples), to amazing egg rolls, to fresh honey, unique mushrooms, body products, pup treats, tamales, and Italian ice, the market makes it easy to support local. Between the vendor stories, and the smiling Haskins family there to greet you, it's impossible to leave without a smile. The energy of this market is infectious. Everyone cares. If you're around on a Thursday, it's certainly worth stopping by!

This is actually more than a meat market. They have groceries and a lunch/breakfast counter too. We generally go by once a month and load up on things like plantains, baby bananas, bulk beans, garlic, chorizo, tortillas...the basics for latin cooking. The produce department is small, but they have a good selection. I do have to look at things kind of hard sometimes as I don't think they have great turn-around on some items and they can look a little dried out when they shouldn't. But, vigilance pays off and I can always get what I came for. The general dry goods area is oddly arranged (to me) but I can generally find what I want without having to ask. The meat market is the thing we love most. Their meats look great and taste better. We always get bulk chorizo. It is so good with eggs and potatoes and crumbled on top of mac and cheese. I digress. Their seasoned meats have also proven to be tasty. Another nice thing about this market is they sell rendered pork fat by the quart. This is essential in making carnitas and other dishes. The fat is always fresh and never rancid. The guys behind the counter are always nice and helpful, even though our Spanish is mutilated at best. The little breakfast/lunch counter is fun. We have gone there and gotten breakfast and lunch tacos. Their food is definitely authentic and tasty. I will not claim to have tried everything, but so far I have to vouch for tacos (pork) and the basic eggs and chorizo breakfast. We tried menudo, but the texture of the actual tripe threw both myself and my hub off. The broth however was really nice. Give this little place a try the next time you need some groceries with latin flair.

I've heard of burgers at car washes but never burgers at a grocery store/laundromat. Yep, they own the laundromat next door too. I came mainly for the burger and jalapeno poppers, but sadly they no longer have the latter, not enough people ordered them. I simply ordered a burger basket with onion rings instead of fries, big mistake! The onion ring breading was so rock hard, it hurts my mouth when I tried to bite into them. The burger weighs in at about 1/3 pound and is pressed very thin. It resembles and tastes nearly identical to Whataburger, with exception of one important thing, they use fresh ground beef here. No surprise a lot of Yelpers mention Whataburger in their reviews. My patty was cooked medium, but they don't ask how you want it cooked. The burger normally comes with toasted bun, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard and mayo. I added sliced, pickled jalapenos for free at the suggestion of the lady taking my order. I also added a 500 mL Mexican Coke and the total came out to about $7. They also use American cheese, so I skipped that. As compared to Hippo burger, which I had to pass just to get here, I like the buns here more, since they hold up well. However, Hippo has a more flavorful beef patty, and it's thick which is my preference. Average service when placing my order, but the man at the cash register was very friendly and seemed like one of the owners. They don't have anywhere to sit down inside, so its definitely to-go only. Next time I come back, I'll try a double burger with fries.

Everything from the turkey and ham down to the fixings and the banana pudding was so delicious! It was all seasoned perfectly and the plant (always hard to please) was really impressed. Everything Cajun Smoke makes is seasoned to perfection and hits the taste buds just right! Marc is our neighbor and he occasionally sells plates. His diversity of food; Cajun food, BBQ, and holiday meals... all to die for! You have to try it!

The shrimp and grits comes covered with a creamy sauce and slices of andouille sausage. I had a bite from my sister's shrimp and grits and thought they were pretty good but creamier than the other dishes. The grits were kept more basic as flavors of the sauce and meats were already heavy.
