They have to be framed so I always go to Prestige Framing Gallery because they always do the job right. They give me advice on what from to use as they have quite a large selection. Also they can tell if something needs reflective glass or not. They don't just whack a frame on and hope for the best. Of course they use acid free paper to back the ink drawings so that they will last longer. I also do needlwork and they help with framing decisions for that as well. As the needlework is often given away I like to have professional frames made. I generally take their advice. I have never had a complaint about a single frame, they always seem to come up trumps. They also sell prints and mirrors.

Thank you Laurie!

Rating for the gallery, not the art (which I did like):…read more Came here for Art Month After Hours and was confused about where we could and could not go. There was a few people going up the back stairs, but there was also accounting books back there. Then when I took the front stairs and made it to the back the people back there were looking at the stored art. Very confusing. Beyond that, it's a good space because there are two floors and you can put on two shows or one large one and have a whole wall dedicated to a large piece (as they did).

Watters Gallery, a private gallery in East Sydney, prides itself on choosing art on its own terms,…read morenot on what is popular. A principal which I'm sure has been very lucrative and successful for the gallery owners Frank Watters and Geoffrey Legge, but that does slightly alienate it from the public. Wandering in off the street into this gallery appears to be on a par with coughing in someone's face. The man behind the desk kept his head firmly down in the clear hope I'd soon go away, but I was determined to check this place out. The decor doesn't exactly detract from this unwelcoming atmosphere as the entire flooring and staircase is bare concrete while the walls are kept neutrally white. There were two artists on exhibit when I had a look around, both of whom used fairly uncomfortable subject matter and expressed themselves in a very tortured manner. Talk about your non-populous approach to choosing art. Although this is clearly a very esteemed gallery in art circles, I wouldn't recommend it for a rainy afternoon.
