Friday afternoon lessons with Miss Janet
    Abby D.

Miss Janet is awesome ! My daughter have been learning from her since 2011. She is very patient, kind , and a humble human. Even though we met through piano lessons we became very close and even though we're not related I consider her as my sister. Thank you Janet for gracing us with your talent and beauty . You guys won't be disappointed if you choose Janet Triyarn piano studios , weather it's for you , or for your child, even if you already know how to play and just want to brush up on your skills. Janet is very flexible and she will work and try to meet your expectations.

He spent over 2 hours with the piano, making this newly inherited heirloom sing again to make my grandma proud. He was very honest, and did not upsell me or even try to. In fact, I tried to upsell him and asked about a cleaning since this piano had been sitting for a few decades. He said it was in excellent condition, and his mantra was "If it's not broke, don't fix it," which I really appreciated. He also explained every step of the process, and used a tool that allowed me to watch him as he tuned it. I could see how when he first came it was really out of pitch and tune on the app, and then when he did the full tuning I could watch the symbol on the app go into the tuned position. He was also a really nice, courteous guy. He took off his shoes on our new carpet. He never asked me to leave a review, and I'm glad I went with him. I'm definitely going to use him again.

Unplayable. I am furious. I feel totally scammed. I spent $400 and my piano sounds worse than before. This person is not ethical and I demanded my money back and if I receive it I will consider making this a 3 star review.

I'd contacted many piano tuners on Yelp and he was by far the least expensive as well. He was on time, professional, kind, and very easy to work with. Pianos can be out of tune for many reasons. Ali takes the time to recognize the issues and is experienced enough to know what is required. People leaving negative reviews may not recognize the intricacies involved in tuning a very old piano. You pay for his experience, knowledge, and the end results, not by the minute. I had a few keys repaired and a tuning. He also fixed a few keys which were right on the brink of sticking, which I greatly appreciated. For any future piano related issues I need, I will be contacting Ali at SD Piano Tuning and Repair. Thank you Ali for another great experience!!

Aside from being very displeased at Ali's $300 upsell (said I needed a $150 pitch raise and sticky…read morekey repair), I have come away feeling completely ripped off. My piano is not in tune and actually sounds worse than before. I'm sorry, but blowing air on keys should not cost 180 dollars. The website still shows his price as $180, but when he arrived he said that was a summer special and I'd need to pay 200. He said he'd "honor the deal," so he upsold me by 300 and 'gave me 20 off.' Also, telling someone you're going to be at their house around 12-1 means that you will be there working between 12 and one, not that you will show up between noon and one. If you're trying to communicate that you will arrive between 12-1, you say , "I'll arrive between noon and one. Is that window of time convenient?" I realized what he might have meant when I saw that he was parked outside of my home for twenty minutes before finally coming to my door at least 10 minutes after 1 PM. Either way, he was late and did not apologize. He got right to trying to get more money out of me. He spent a good portion of his time in my home on his phone, which is most likely why my piano is drastically out of tune. I noticed at least 3 phonecalls, and many stretches of silence where he was not working on my piano. My piano sounds worse than before. It is very out of tune. I have asked for at least a partial refund but haven't received any response. Have a listen for yourself. That's some hot garbage that cost $480.

A successful move with no injuries to man nor piano. One star deduction for Steve failing to confirm our appointment. I had to call him twice for confirmation. Not a good thing for a new customer to go through given there had been no prior experience of working with him. Another star deduction for being late given a 2 hour window. In addition, I was not able to leave for lunch due to the uncertainty of his arrival. (12-2pm) Price is competitive so I'd rate him 3.5 stars. Prefers cash payment.

I would say that my wife and I decided to go with professional piano movers because 1) They specialize and have the knowledge of how to handle moving pianos 2) Pianos are really heavy 3) They have the proper tools and equipment to ensure your piano is moved correctly. 4) If you drop your own piano - you are SOL my friend! If you are too cheap to hire this service and have it done the right way and do not care much about the sound and your piano staying in tune, then I would say STOP reading this NOW and pick up it up yourself. Bertrand's Music already did a great job marketing last year to introduce the kids to various instruments, and to provide parents with information about how to secure rental instruments and lessons. The fliers and information were helpful to return to this location. We were fortunate to identify a couple of violins from close friends but they desperately needed restring and repair. We came in Saturday to meet Troy - who was the nicest young man to help us identify the services needed. He provided detailed information about timeline and quote and made the whole experience painless. Mind you~ this is their busiest season at the start of the school year. Even though the building was filled with families, students, crying babies, and various instrument noises.. Troy provided top notch service and executed all needs without a hitch. We submitted instruments on Saturday and received a detailed telephone call by Monday to retrieve the instruments. Even upon return, we had the high fortune of meeting with Troy again. One of his fellow associates (newer in her training) helped us at first. Troy came to the rescue to help clarify the transaction, identified a computer error in billing, and skillfully provided us with the close of transaction needed. He went above and beyond to then offer to tune the instruments using one of their tools behind the counter (and he doesn't even play violin! just knows the ear and use of equipment). The violins sounded lovely. I never met this young gentleman before, but if Troy is the standard of hiring at this type of establishment, he has secured my business and my recommendation to come back to this Bertrand's. He was kind, well informed, and efficient. I was able to have two instruments repaired, tuned and timely prepared for the this wretched band season (I have two very excited musicians and a new box of earplugs.) The prices were reasonable and the service quick. He couldn't have provided better service. Be sure to ask for Troy when you return if you need anything related to music service needs. He made the experience fantastic and we will return and recommend.
