I have a niece who is really into this triathlon thing. She also takes her running seriously to the point that she recently completed her first full marathon.
To us mere mortals whom she is trying to convince without too much success to get physical by being more active in sports, her word of advice is never to scrimp on the equipment and shoes to use.
I have to agree with her there. They may be expensive, but getting the highest quality sports equipment can make a difference in one's performance. I learned this a long time ago when I decided to take up jogging. I made the dumb mistake of using a cheap pair of rubber shoes, which caused my feet to get blisters.
Triswimbikerun is a store that sells top-of-the-line sports equipment. As the name suggests, the place has all kinds of sports wear for triathletes, or those who engage in swimming, biking and running.
I told my niece that I was too old for this, but she had a terrific retort: "Tito, you can swim, right? And you can ride a bike? And run?" Yeah, she had me stumped. I can still do all three, just not competitively.
The store prefers to sell online, so this place is really a display area mostly. Not that they won't sell you anything that catches your fancy. Anyone who wants to get back to good health via cross-training, you might as well look good while you're at it.
This store is not too far from SM Bicutan, along Dona Soledad Avenue. read more
