I called on July 15 to discuss my family's in-progress move and was only able to schedule an appointment for July 23. During our meeting, I wanted to cancel the contract, but he said I must keep making payments until August, even though an extra fee was charged to my account right after signing. We're moving away, making it impractical to attend classes, yet they insist my child participate in a promotion ceremony on August 23 and that I can only withdraw after that. It's frustrating because my child isn't receiving proper instruction; although we have videos proving he isn't engaged, the instructor claims otherwise. This program seems more focused on profits than education, and I'm left confused about how to end this situation, especially with concerns about potential charges for August, September, and the mystery additional charge already taken.

I've been studying with this school for about 7 years now. The instructors are great, the camaraderie among the students is amazing, and I can attest to real health benefits of practice. I used to have a sore back every morning, but now, it doesn't matter where I sleep, I have full flexibility and no achy back in the morning! This school is also great with helping students developed confidence. I was very reluctant to compete when I first started, but the support I got from my instructors and fellow students encouraged me, and now I can say that I am an international and world champion. Something I never would have imagined, and yet here I am. You have to buy hand wraps for the class (mandatory, can't box without them), $10. They show you the punches before the class starts so you are not a total fish out of water. The classes have all different levels of skill and physicality so you can move at your own pace and not feel like you need to compete with the person next to you. As I write this review I have just completed my first month of class. I love it!!!!! I go on Saturdays, first thing in the morning. Jerome is the Saturday instructor and he is awesome. He pushes and gets in your face but he's such a motivator and makes sure that you are getting it. His classes can be intense but you feel the reward. I gotta mention Tina too. She is just this super awesome ball of energy. She has walked me through so many things. She's always ready to help and never makes you feel like "Geesh you don't have it yet!!" The Master (surprisingly) was young, but after one trial class, my 7 year old daughter was hooked. She loved how Master Andrew made classes fun, entertaining, and filled with laughter, but also included times for serious learning accordingly. He understands if the kids are having a difficult time with certain forms, but continues to encourage them which helps give them that push to continue, rather than to quit. This dojo is also run by the most family-oriented family, whom (from what I've seen) all remembers each students and their families names. They are constantly sanitizing and keeping the place clean. Yes, even before covid hit. 4 years later, my daughter who started out as a no belt, holds a second degree black belt. My son struggles with paying attention in school, but here he loves "focusing" and learning new techniques. It's the right balance of challenge and accomplishment. The facility is nice enough, there is enough room for all the kids to spread out. Class sizes are around 12-15, which is perfect. Belt progression is not guaranteed, and belt testing is serious. Master Andrew trains his students to be competitive and many do participate in state and national competitions, but we're only white belt, so a ways to go still. If you're looking for a family-friendly, flexible, fun and competitive environment, this is the place.
