After hearing about the family ties to Cafe Kacao, we finally made it to Cafe Antigua--and it did not disappoint. We often crave Guatemalan breakfast as a vibrant alternative to standard American fare, and this spot delivered on every front. I'd read a few concerns regarding portion sizes versus cost, but I'm happy to dispel those narratives. The portions were perfect. While we might be accustomed to over-the-top serving sizes in America, the quality and quantity here were spot on for the price. We enjoyed the Machaca omelet and the Machaca scrambled eggs; both were packed with flavor. We also shared an order of churros that were exactly as they should be: crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and incredibly fresh. Great service, fair prices, and a much less busy dining room. But then again we went on a Wednesday morning. The weekends may get as busy as their family friendly rival down the street.
