Honestly, it's been the best part of being in Charleston. Knowing that our boys are happy, safe, learning, and well-loved provides such peace of mind. It's a traditional Montessori school, you won't find a tablet in site. There is an abundance of outdoor time, the kids learn life skills, and of course they are taught math, reading, writing, reasoning, history, geography, etc. Kids choose work and learn at their own pace, and the wonderful teachers are trained in how to support them in their journey. I could not have asked for a better early education for my kids.

The program uses the classical Montessori method including a Life Skills program that does everything from personal hygiene to Junior Master Gardening. If we're looking for alternatives to the "memorize and forget" educational system; one that allows the child to learn and develop at their own pace with success measured within each ones own little being, this program is an answer. After I made an appointment, the Director did not allow me to ask questions but instead made general statements about parenting and how she has to retrain children when they have come from other preschools or with stay at home moms. The teachers repeated the phrase get out your matt and get out your work dozens of times to children who did not seem aware or stimulated to learn anything. We did not see actual Montessori Method in action but a lot of rhetoric. Parents are not welcome to visit during the day. This closed door policy is not traditional in Montessori Method.
