And what happened was some girl asked to go to the bathroom, but the teacher wouldn't let her good cause we were doing 20 minutes reading and then during the reading the girl started having a episode and had to be removed from the classroom, the teacher walked past my desk then started getting up in my face basically spitting and stared accusing me of doing something to the girl and it was my fault. Mind you the girl sits 1 row across from me so having common sense i didn't cause the girl episode and then during second block I found out she reported me to admin plus gave me a referral for making a scene/disturbing the peace in class and as soon as the lady saw i was black she gave me like this irritated type of look and she didn't even hear my side of the story out so and gave me OSS for the rest of the day (it was about to be the whole week). Please, please parents I beg you not to send your kids here.

Some with me I couldn't go at all and some caught an attitude and mumbled under there breathe, it's not illegal to need to use the restroom especially when you have a small bathroom like me. and most admin won't do a lot about things Mrs Matthew does and she doesn't play around!!

I have enjoyed visiting this school many times to speak to students and be a part of different events on campus and I have been impressed every time by the level of quality of the students. I really like the open feel and layout of the campus and all the space the school has to offer. I also like the energy and vibe of the students at this school as you can feel all of the creativity running through the halls when school is in session. Every time I come here I always seem to learn something too and I always leaved inspired. This school is well run and I look forward to being able to return again in the future to help out.

Helen Kiser joined the Hammond family this past summer as LS Head and has already won the respect as well as the hearts of students, faculty and families. Constant contact with the school. I receive weekly emails from the director, updating me on lesson plans and any special events (think field trips and fundraisers). The teachers call parents monthly to address any concerns or questions we may have. Each month, photos of my child are uploaded to a private Snapfish account. They're cloth diaper friendly! Your child brings their own lunch each day, or you can opt to order lunch (menus and order forms are available from the school). Right now, my sons options for ordering lunch are Mac and Cheese from McAlisters Deli one on day, or Grilled Chicken from Applebee's on another day. Refrigerators and microwaves are available in the classroom, so my son generally takes leftovers for lunch. Also, the school is completely nut free! Okay...but what about academics?? Each week has a theme. Let's take the week they learned about dental health as an example. It included making tooth artwork, reading books about teeth, a visit from a dentist and learning the Spanish word for teeth (diente). It has been such a FANTASTIC experience. The director knew every kid by name. The teachers were superb and absolute saints! They taught her so much this past year. My kid never wanted to miss school, not even for fun stuff. She knows her alphabet, numbers, some blends, colors, shapes, how to behave in a structured environment, and more. I felt she was safe and very well cared for. Absolute five stars and will recommend to anyone else who lives in the area.
