dirty ER. very uncaring staff. My husband needed a wheel chair and they acted like it really was a burden. There was also blood on the floor and a person that worked there took come wipes and cleaned it up using her foot. when my husband got to his room he asked for a washcloth toothbrush and tooth paste. I went through the cabinets out in the hall and found these items for him. this was 24 hours later. My husband walked out on his own when he became frustrated while the nurse was trying to scan his wrist band and bottle of meds that were to be given every hour. nurse told my husband she would be back every hour to do this. it never happened so she was trying to scan the medicine and his wrist band for all those hours that he did it himself. totally unacceptabl. worst hospital we have ever been to. Unless you absolutely can't make it anywhere else avoid this hospital. Not one person was kind or caring. My husband was transferred there from Muscatine where got great care for what they were able to do. Rude Rude Rude staff. read more

Overall we recommend this hospital. The nurses are amazing and I would like to highlight Wound nurses Valerie and Amy who took care of my mother on 3/22/2023. I'm frustrated with surgeon Dr. FIERCE who scared my mother unnecessarily the morning before her surgery saying it was pointless and she should talk with hospice. She is not done fighting for her life. She was scheduled for a main line to be put in at 1 pm and it was canceled until the next day at 4 pm.. Which meant no pain pills and no food until after that procedure. He was rude, mean, and arrogant. Unfortunately, she has to have him do this surgery tomorrow or I would ask for another doctor. I really hope you have a better outcome with him if you must see Dr. FIERCE. He maybe cute, but bedside manner is 2/10. read more

This is a hospital which has replaced human service with AI. Being a nurse of over 20 years I have never been in such a terrible hospital in my life. The human you first interact with are some of the rudest uncaring people, they have no business being in a healthcare setting. No humans to interact with in the waiting room, 1 phone in the waiting room that staff "sometimes" use to get a hold of patient families and the waiting families are supposed to man the phones... ridiculous, cruel, and a hippa violation. They all just cover for themselves without any regard for patient's or family. They blamed me for their failures for taking a 2 hour procedure, making it last 5 hours, not tell the family what was going on, get yelled at by rude staff (that I had to go to another part of the hospital patient ward wing) who couldn't handle being challenged for the hospitals incompetence. Then have security come at me like I was a threat as they stated the "nurses" were afraid when I never spoke with 1 nurse. This place is a joke that needs to be sanctioned. read more

I have never been more embarrassed and disgusted by a group of "professionals" as I am here. The nurses sit in the halls shouting and laughing like a bunch of hyenas while patients are trying to rest in their rooms. When you first walk in they say Covid and the flu are very much present here, yet no one is wearing a mask. Their bedside manner is laughable, and they are constantly rolling their eyes and cutting the patient off. I'm appalled at this whole place, and will never step foot in here again. read more

This morning, I took my fiance to a clinic at the Bettendorf location. I dropped her at the door and I parked in a handicapped stall. While I waited, I decided to get out and get the ice off my wipers. When I got out, the lot was icy, with water on it. As you can imagine, I ended up on my butt. Luckily, I didn't get hurt. I was able to use the step on my pickup to get up. I called into the maintenance department and told them the handicapped stalls by the clinic entrance were icy. They said they'd get someone right out there to salt it. Well, an hour later, we left and no one came out. This shows a disregard for patient safety. I sure hope nobody falls and gets hurt. I'm sure they'll have a lawyer that can smell blood in the water. Shame on you for your disregard for patient safety. read more

a few yrs ago I came here for lots of rectal bleeding, no pain at all. After waiting a long time in an empty waiting room I was given a smear test which no blood came up in. did they even do the test?! My dr told me it was likely Diverticulitis but, to go ahead and get a colonoscopy. I had already looked up the symptoms of diverticulitis bleeding isnt one! Pain is! I got a colonoscopy elsewhere and it was stage 2 cancer. with the relaxed attitude, I could have easily not gotten checked. I came back recently and got ct scans and labs done. In a few days I called about test results oh they were never forwarded to my oncologist who ordered them. So, I called the oncologist to request the tests and was told Trinity should give them to me! I would give zero stars if possible. Before covid they were excellent, my last visit was abysmal. Sat in my own urine for hours with my light on. I finally wheeled my wheelchair out to the floor and nurses were on their phone. They also completely messed up my discharge which took them a day and a half until I had to get a patient advocate involved. I had to get on the phone with my insurance myself/my care coordinator made things worse then better. I I understand being short handed but maybe they shouldn't fire nurses for personal medical decisions. They were rude, unhelpful. I'm a patient person I did my best but I could not have had a worst experience at a hospital. They used to be my go to- I will NEVER be back. read more

I came to the emergency room with symptoms of a mini stroke. I got triaged by a nurse pretty quickly but I ended up waiting in the waiting room for over 2 hours. I guess strokes and heart attacks aren't priority anymore. There weren't even that many people in the waiting room but they had been waiting forever too. I get that there is patient priority and what not but I was having symptoms of a stroke for God sakes! The triage nurse was snotty too! read more

I can't begin to explain how impressed and grateful I am for the care my mom received while staying in the ICU at Trinity Medical Center in Bettendorf. Having been burned by the lack of focus on patient care in the Genesis Health System, I was not sure what to expect under the Trinity umbrella. From the time we admitted my mother into the ICU to the at-home RN nurse visit, patient care has exceeded my expectations. Everyone involved in my mother's treatment were so exceptional. They listened to all our questions, concerns, and most of all...showed empathy. We were treated like real human beings and not spoken to in terms we wouldn't understand. My hat is off to the WHOLE TEAM at Trinity Medical Center. They are superb and I am forever grateful to the care my mom received while under their watch. We are lucky and they saved my mom's life. I'm fairly certain that this place is a former country jail retrofitted(by adding a sign) into a "hospital". I know that they kept the same PA that worked there. If she does in fact have an MD or DO... It's from Haiti or Mexico. Her pharmacology brought me back to med school. What not to do, and that's med school. Nobody wants to be treated by a student . I wish I had something good to say, but if you are having a heart attack or ... Anything. You have a better chance of getting help from a hobo down by the river. Went to the ER for extreme ankle pain (gout) checked in and was In the lobby for 30 MINUTES before a nurse came to get me. Nobody else in the emergency besides me. Literally in agony while waiting for somebody to help me. And when I finally get seen they just pop me with a pill and send me on my way. Didn't even check to see if it worked or if I was feeling any better. And then had to literally hop on 1 foot out the hospital because nobody gave a shit enough to help me. Really miss when hospitals actually gave a fuck about their patients. -100/10 would never recommend and probably never go to that hospital ever again. read more

I went to the ER for something that was causing me sepsis. Instead of treating the infection they found a testicular torsion which required surgery immediately. I was then transferred to Iowa City and as far as they were concerned the university hospital was taking over my treatment. I was unable to get the needed surgeries because of malnutrition so they sent me home with one antibiotic and supplements. Apparently nobody wanted to deal with me anymore because I was only given one antibiotic and no refills. Plus testicular torsion is supposed to be one of the most painful things that can happen to a male. I haven't barely been able to walk for two weeks because of the stitches and swelling in my groin. I have even called the university hospital along with unity point to figure out what to do next with both places telling me that I had to make an appointment with the hospital. so far I haven't had anything but signs of septic shock and close to immobile for a couple weeks. I hope they run a commercial saying that they care for their patients because that's become obvious false advertising (allegedly.) Apparently it's the patients job to remove stitches themselves and I am supposed to li like it's the civil war and bite down on a stick to ignore the pain from the half opened wound to my testicles. The original infection was never even addressed so I guess my other option is to go to a competent hospital where doctorates aren't obta from online universities or community colleges before I die from septic shock. At this point I would recommend a mortician over the waste of time and excruciating pain I went through. read more

The nurses here are wonderful. They will do all that they can for you. Depending on he hospitalist you get, they can be very rude, entitled, and have extremely bad bedside manner. The last dr that I had did not seem to care about how I felt about my care. Or the care plan that was currently in place during my hospitalization. It was very discouraging. And when I disagreed, I got an "I'm the doctor, so what" kind of attitude and response. I left after about a week, feeling just about the same as when I went it. read more

Went to the emergency room with my boy and the wait was only 15 min to see a doctor! It was very nice not to wait an hour plus and the place was new and clean. I hope we don't have to go back soon, but if we have to choose emergency room, we're going back to Bettendorf. read more

I brought my daughter in at 8:45pm tonight because she fell off of her skateboard and hit her head hard on concrete. Huge bump. We come in, I explain what happened and we sit..,.no one else is there! We're the ONLY ones in the waiting room! After 15 minutes I go up and ask if the fact that she has a head injury doesn't concern them?!? Wouldn't you immediately want to at least do a cursory exam to check for weird pupil dilation etc. oh yeah she says and gets someone. We then get put into a room if you want to call it that...curtains for walls. (Didn't they spend millions on this place?). A nurse comes in, asks questions and tells us to wait. Other people are now here, on the other side of the curtain with their 5 children running around as if it were a daycare. After 40 minutes behind the curtain the nurse comes in and puts a neck brace on my daughter while proclaiming how important this is since she fell and hit her head! Apparently 40 minutes of not wearing it was ok but all of the sudden it was crucial! She's now had a CAT scan and once again we're waiting! Place still isn't busy except for the daycare on the other side of the curtain!!! So far this place sucks! I've been in multiple ERs in my life but this place ranks at the bottom!!!! read more
