That's what I was first reminded of when I first signed up my son here. Master Kang and his instructors motivated the kids and cared about making them better. Shortly thereafter, my older son (who initially swore he had no interest in martial arts because they make you do push ups and doing the same thing over and over again was hard and annoying) asked to join his brother for classes. Being heavier set and having quit multiple other martial arts training before, we didn't expect him to last more than a month but we proceeded. In a couple of months, not only was he still taking classes with his brother but he is even more engaged to do so. His kick height has doubled where it was before, his confidence has increased, he's more respectful and he's pushing himself harder and I credit the instructors and Masters for this. Seeing both my kids' improvements, my husband and I decided to sign up and learn with our children and unlike what we initially feared, we feel quite at home and Master Kang gave us the opportunity to take part in something important to our kids which became important to us too. We now all challenge and encourage each other to do better and I can't say any other martial arts gym have ever had our entire family as engaged as Master Kang's! Try it for yourself!!

She withheld my kids from me and yelled at me for trying to take them home. (When I tried to explain they're not enrolled in her class, she cut me off, didn't listen, yelled at me, and created a scene which was akin to a kid's tantrum.) Oh then, even though I hadn't said a word, she accused me of interrupting her class and making a scene. Everyone there says, "sorry, that's how Alicia is but try another class..." I started attending classes here 9 weeks ago on the recommendation of friends that have achieved…read moretheir black belt through this school. It was founded and is actively run by Grandmaster Jong Soo Park who was on the original Taekwondo demonstration team in the 60's and has a long career filled with many achievements and has many accomplished students. The school is very organized and there's always another black belt but sometimes many (I've been in classes with 6+) to help out. Classes start with a group warm up and line drills. The busiest classes of 20-30 are on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6pm and Saturday at 11. The kids classes are at 5 and classes at 7 seem to be smaller but still taught by one of Grandmaster Park's blackbelts. The classes are physically and mentally challenging and I'm getting in better shape. The students have been friendly. I've definitely met very cool people. The space itself is very big, well equipped and maintained. The most you will pay for unlimited classes is 100/month on a monthly plan but yearly students that can pay upfront receive a heavy discount that works out to just over 60/month. Of course these prices might change so don't hold me to it! So far so very good!

Noel was running the bootcamp class that I attended and the workout really helped work on the…read moremuscles that I hardly use! He's very enthusiastic when hes running the class which is great! The class is 45 mins long but it's still sufficient enough to break a sweat (it's really depends on how hard you work). It consisted of running the track ladders, jumping through hurdles, some weight training focusing mostly on core and legs with some arms and some basic exercises using your own body weight. Some of the exercises required some good balance too like the "good morning squat". The gym itself was very clean, lots of open space, and the equipment are all in pretty good condition. There is plenty of parking on site and the change rooms are very clean with plenty of lockers for you to store your stuff. Make sure you bring your own lock! The only downside is that there is no water fountain so be sure to bring your own water. Overall, a fairly good workout. If you're looking to boost your cardio/endurance, this might not be the class for you. I find that this is better for people who wants to tone up.
