I was visiting Carlsbad and didn't stay at the hotel but I'm glad I was able to eat at their restaurant! We were greeted instantly when we walked in. Our server was so friendly and attentive. All the appetizers tasted great and I was impressed with the goat cheese. I noticed that almost every table ordered it! I had the lobster ravioli which had lots of lobster inside each bite.

Not being grilled about where you're from upon entering would be a great start. Having correct prices on your menu for another. Lastly not adding 3% onto the bill to make a personal political statement.

Wonderful service! We had a table of 12, and the waitress did an outstanding job serving us. The food came out quickly, all orders were correct and our cups were never empty. As a past waitress, I know how hats that can be when you have other tables as well! Food was delicious, I ordered the enchiladas and they were amazing. I highly recommend their burgers though, most of the table ordered them and I had a little food envy lol. They looks soo good and everybody loved them. We had a great visit and recommend coming here for lunch or dinner. They also have a room upstairs for private groups.

We are ate at Trinity twice during our recent trip to Carlsbad. After driving down from Albuquerque and checking into the attached Trinity Hotel, we opted to have dinner because it was one of the restaurants still open at 8 PM. We were pleasantly surprised by delicious New Mexico wines that we'd never tried before followed up by very tasty pasta dishes. The pasta was cooked al dente and the sauce were very flavorful. The portions were also very reasonable and filling without being huge. Our dishes came with a garlic bread knot, which was also extremely delicious. Our server was really nice about offering recommendations when one of the wines we were thinking of getting was not available. He also gave us some nice pointers about things to do around town, and at Carlsbad Caverns, which is one of the main reasons we were in town. On our last day in town, we opted for breakfast here because there are some interesting options on the menu and it was very convenient to getting us out of town relatively early. The Eggs Benedict was so good; it was better than many Eggs Benedict I've had in the Chicago area. I think they were using a Wolferman English muffin and freshly carved ham. The iced coffee was very good with properly balanced oat milk and flavored syrup. Again, our server was very attentive and helpful. The building has had many incarnations, including a bank and sheriff's office, so it has a lot of character and charm. Definitely dine here if you are in the Carlsbad area!

To be clear- this is for the hotel and the restaurant. If you're headed to Carlsbad Caverns, this seems to be the place to stay. The rooms are very nice (and the bathrooms are amazing). We had both dinner and breakfast at the restaurant due to the sheer convenience of it all. The dinner was spot on after a long day of hiking through the caverns and the breakfast drinks and pastries were amazing. (Also... if you haven't been to Carlsbad Caverns... go. They're amazing and unreal!)

This breakfast was absolutely amazing. We got the Monte Crisco with a side of fruit and a cappuccino with almond milk. Highly recommend stopping in here for food. The service is wonderful and everyone seems to be very friendly. our Waitress Ashley was phenomenal and very good at her job. I was a waitress for 10+ years and I know a good waitress when I see one! She hit all the marks! We will definitely be back here again on our way back up north!

    The Trinity Hotel

Would recommend The Trinity Hotel. The bed was very comfortable, our room was very clean we loved the beautiful original wood frames of the arched windows and door frames with transom. Short drive to Carlbad Cavern and Sitting Bull Water Falls. The service for both the hotel an Restaurant was not only very good but friendly. If we ever went back to NM this would be our go to. Also recommend staying for the bat flight at sunset..Carlbad Carverns I was happy to take home a case of the lo al wine sold at the Hotel. Very flavorful and reasobky

I wrote this review initially mid March on Google. The owner decided to hide my review from his page so I'm posting it here. Please see below. You can't make your establishment seem better by hiding most all the bad reviews. This restaurant was extremely disappointing. Look past the high review average and deeper into the negative ones. There definitely is truth to them. You should be concerned when a place has this amount of mixed reviews and last of consistency. I wish I was more aware before I decided to bring my friends here. The speed of service here is so slow I can not even begin to describe it. I came here on a Sunday night at 7:00 and the wait for a table of 4 was 30 minutes which seems average. Our table service however took an hour for food to arrive. And they did not offer us complementary bread rolls until we had asked 30minutes in. The waiter had stated that she was planning to bring it out with our entrees (which would end being 1 hour in). However a table which was seated near us was offered the bread rolls right after ordering. I was very disappointed by the lack of updates throughout this hour of wait time. There was no "hang on I'll check on the food for you" or "The chef is a little backed up, it will be a bit" or even and courtesy table visit. We were just left in the dark with no gauge of the state of our wait time/ food. The food was not worth waiting anywhere near that long for. I ordered the Pork chop sautéed with mushrooms, But my mushrooms were barely cooked and cold. Vegetables were sub par as they are diced and boiled with a little salt. Nothing fancy. My partner ordered the Pic Pachio with shrimp and it was the smallest pasta I have been seen served at a restaurant. Imagine a small kids meal pasta on a small plate but with 3 shrimp. That meal can not even fill you if you had eaten a full basket of bread rolls. Her meal was very bland and the $7 shrimp add-on was chewy to say the least. After our food finally came, we realized that my friend's salad never arrived. We asked our server Kathryn about it and she was very rude and short about it stating that, "We could see that she was busy when we ordered and that is why" and did not apologize. TLDR; If you want waste spend over 2 hours in one establishment, you are better off waiting at your local DMV. I can think of 100 better uses for $140+ than to spend it here. "Fine Dining" restaurants are much more than just pricier food. Find another restaurant, You will definitely enjoy it better. On a side note, a good sign an establishment does not care about their restaurant is when they do not bother to keep their menu prices up to date. Even their menu on their website has outdated prices. It is very misleading. Do better Trinity Hotel.

We were recommended this place by our hotel front desk person. It's inside the Trinity Hotel and there is parking off to the side. We got there right when it opened so we got right in and seated. It did get busy as the evening went on. Our waitress was super friendly and quick. So many items on the menu sounded so good. I got the Alfredo tortellini. It was SO GOOD. The portion was just right and she brought over a couple garlic rolls to go with. This was the perfect meal after a day of hiking!

They stuck our 5 year old's name on customer of the day and allowed her to spin the prize wheel each day we stayed. She was thrilled to win a koozie. Hotel lobby was clean and they had candy, water bottles, and fresh cookies out for guests to enjoy. You could borrow an appliance for your room if needed. There was a little food pantry stocked to the brim if you needed a quick snack or forgot to pack something. Yogurt, apples, oranges, coffee, water, and hot cocoa were all free. Our room was clean and tidy. It came fully stocked with utensils, dishes, cookware, paper towels, dish soap/dishwasher pods, a coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. The hotel was also pet friendly, which was a major plus since we had our two dogs with us. There was a nice little gym section which was connected to the laundry facility and pool. We didn't use the gym or laundry during this stay, but our kids loved the pool. The water was a little cold for my liking, but the kids didn't seem to mind. The area was handicap accessible, clean, and stocked with fresh towels. There was a lovely outdoor patio with heat lamps, tables, and a few grills. Around back, there was a dog walk area stocked with poop bags and a trash can. To my surprise, there were also children's toys-- two cozy coupes, a slide, some scooters, and balance bikes. These people really have it together! If we ever go back to Carlsbad, I'd stay there again!

The property had plenty of parking and location was good if you're looking to visit Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountains. No issues with wifi or hvac, and staff were friendly at check in. However, their system for water is pretty janky; they have free bottles in a fridge at the snack shop (next to bottles you have to pay for, so choose wisely!). No water filling stations to be had, one was broken. And one ice machine for the entire property. Oof. And then the gym was a let down, so much space but most of it left empty. Only one lonely bench next to the dumbbells, and then come cardio equipment lining another wall. That was it. Not a lot of options in this area but I'd say it's worth a look around.
