This was by far one of the cleanest hotels we've stayed at. We weren't able to check in early because they had a dance competition the night before and the rooms still needed to be turned over, but honestly it was worth the wait once we got inside. The room was extremely clean, fresh, and well kept. You could tell the staff really cared about maintaining the property. Everyone we interacted with was super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The pool area was also really nice! We went swimming after the sun went down and it was perfect. The pool stays open until 10 PM, so definitely take advantage of a night swim if you stay here. Breakfast was good too.. the food was fresh, hot, and constantly stocked. They also put out popcorn in the evenings, which the kids absolutely loved. Overall, this was a really comfortable and enjoyable stay and we would definitely come back. read more

About 10 families arrived to check in at the same time, Jayme was very friendly, efficient and got us all checked in quickly. Lovely downstairs common area with tea, coffee and freshly popped popcorn welcoming guests. The hallways, rooms need Cosmetic touch ups but it gets the job done comfortably. We didn't expect house keeping to tidy the room since not requested but they did. I am submitting a formal complaint regarding my recent interaction with front desk employee Terry Mendoza. Apparently management doesn't care either. I booked a two-night reservation and attempted multiple times to contact the property before reaching Ms. Mendoza. During our call, I made a routine inquiry about early check-in and was met with dismissive, unprofessional, and hostile conduct. I then requested cancellation of my reservation, which had been made only minutes prior for same-day check-in. Ms. Mendoza stated I would be charged under a 24-hour cancellation policy but was unable or unwilling to explain how that policy applied. When I asked for clarification, the amount of the charge, and escalation to a manager, she refused to provide information, declined to transfer or contact management, and terminated the call. Further attempts to contact the property were ignored. As a result, I went to the location in person. Upon arrival, Ms. Mendoza again refused to contact management and initially refused to provide written confirmation of cancellation. Documentation was only provided after repeated insistence. This interaction demonstrates a failure in customer service standards, lack of policy transparency, and refusal to escalate a customer concern upon request. I request that this matter be reviewed and addressed appropriately. read more

This place was perfect for our last minute one night stay !! On our way to see the caves and was looking for Simple clean hotel to stay at . This place truly lives up to its name ! So Comfortable and pleasant. The lobby is very clean and welcoming . Ice lemon water , coffee, tea, and even popcorn is all present to greet your arrival. The room we got was much bigger then then we needed . Very clean bathroom, nice comfy bed. There was a tv, mini fridge , microwave . The favorite part was complimentary HOT breakfast! But we were running late to check out and I left my hiking boots there. Two days later I figured out my folly. We called and asked about them. Stayed here the night before planning on going to Carlsbad Caverns. The hotel is about 30 minutes away from the caverns, but IMO a better location than the hotel closer to the caverns for the sake of food choices & gas station choices which the hotel closer to the caverns doesn't have. The hotel has a very well lit parking lot and plenty of space for parking, even when we arrived at 11pm The room was really clean, spacious and just overall a really nice hotel room. The beds were comfortable, pillows were great and the overall layout of the room worked well for myself & 3 kids (2 teens & a toddler). The staff was friendly at the front desk, and helpful. Check in was super easy, and the room was a nice temperature upon arriving. I'd absolutely recommend staying here if you're going to the caverns and/or Guadalupe Mountains National Park. It has a nice separate seating area in the room which was great this time as we had to eat in the hotel since you could only get take out due to the corona virus. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. For the price we paid, $100 for the night, it felt like a room that was much more expensive. Our room had a king size bed, and a living area with a couch. It was plenty of room for two people and all of our luggage. The room was clean and quiet. The best part was the warm breakfast. They had freshly cooked eggs, biscuits, bacon, and sausage, plus juices, fresh fruits, and a lot more. The food was actually really good! Our room at this Comfort Suites hotel was clean, quiet, spacious, comfortable, and newly updated. The front desk staff were friendly and offered excellent service. Our only complaint--and this is not a minor one in the midst of a global pandemic--is that, despite proper signage around the hotel, there was ZERO enforcement of mask wearing and social distancing requirements to keep guests safe. This place was way better than I expected. It has the best pillows I ever had in a hotel and the bed was so comfortable that my entire family completely knocked out when we got into bed. The breakfast was ok but the sausage and gravy were delicious! Oh and the potatoes too! So worth the money which wasn't very much at all. It was clean and welcoming and I would definitely stay there again. The AC was nice because it was so hot and there was plenty of parking. The pool was cute but we didn't use it. I would say 3 and a half stars for me. The rooms are very spacious and the TV is a decent size for this type of hotel. My only reason or should I say problem was very bad internet. Now I understand that I shouldn't be expecting much with "free wifi", but for the internet to be disconnecting every 5 seconds was a very bad experience. I mostly use internet for gaming or streaming, but it also plays a big part in my work. I just hope next time I come and stay here the issues are resolved. read more

I learned the hard way not to make reservations with any Choice Hotels if you might need flexibility in your travel. I tried to change a four night reservation to three. My rate was not based on the number of nights of my stay. I could not modify the reservation online. After more than half an hour on the phone, including 3 transfers, none of which were to a supervisor as requested, the best they could offer was Increasing the rate of all of my other nights to the current rate rather than when I booked. I'm now having to spend my time finding a new hotel. read more

We only had two people in our room with a king-size bed, but the room could have easily slept 5 people; there were 2 couches in the room. If you can afford it, I highly recommend it. The room was substandard for the $427.00 for one night we booked. We are here working and in our RV. The weather turned bad yesterday with high winds (55-65 mph) and flash flooding. We were treated poorly, the front desk personel were snobby. The room was not cleaned properly, dirty lavatory top and hairs...on the bath matt you have to place yourself as it lays beneath the towels, rolled up. The TV is mounted on the wall in the center of the room. You cannot use the remote easily from the bed, and if you're in the queen be by the window, forget watching TV. And too, it is mounted between the bedroom and desk/living room. We simply didn't watch TV. We feel that the hotels in Carlsbad take advantage of people, especially during inclement weather. read more

The Comfort Inn is another average chain hotel but in Carlsbad it gets a tidge above average rating as they were half off the price of the Holiday Inn Express. Trip Adviser really dogs this place but I did not experience any of the complaints I read about. The hotel has been updated with new carpet and linens, the breakfast was not as crowded as expected and offered cheese and fresh fruit. I found it humorous that the swimming pool is still closed but freshly painted and I did not get $10,00 off my room. A quiet place to stay on the north end of town. read more

Rip - Off! This place is now called US Travelers. My fiancee' got this room because it has a indoor pool and whirlpool and we wanted to have a romantic night. Otherwise we would have gotten a cheaper room somewhere else. He even called a little over a week before we came out to make sure the pool was open and was told that it was. But when we got there it was closed. The people at the front desk were not rude but they were also not very sympathetic, friendly or helpful. They told us they had a deal with Best Western that we could use their pool but when we called BW they said they hadn't had that deal for a very long time. Otherwise it was clean and the bed was comfy but it does not justify the price they charge considering the pool was closed. read more

We booked at White's Resort and thanks to YELP I cancelled and changed to this hotel. That was a good move. I was worried when we passed hotels advertising a far lower price but were glad we did. This was the cleanest, friendliest hotel we had seen up to now on our trip. I was surprised when they said it was 10 years old, it look brand new. The breakfast was great. I did not give it 5 stars because the hot tub and pool were being serviced, but they gave us $10 off because of it. Location quiet, across from the hospital out of the tourist area. read more

I'm a little baffled by some of the reviews of this hotel, as they are listed for another name and for dates that can't be for this location, as it is a very new hotel. It is not called US Travelers, so I can only assume Comfort Suites had another location that they sold and built a new building. THIS building, and the staff, are wonderful. The lobby is modern and clean. The rooms were spacious, had nice furnishings and clean. The bathroom was AWESOME - huge shower with glass doors (NO CURTAIN!!! YAY!!!!!!!). The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room actually had a CLOSET. My one tiny complaint would be that the tv was small for the size of the room - seeing it from across the room was a little bit difficult. Now... let's get down to the REAL deal at this joint. By FAR the best hotel free breakfast I have ever had. Heck, it was better than the NOT free hotel breakfasts I've had. They had the usual waffle maker, but the standout here were the biscuits and gravy. Oh. My. Word. I want more, NOW. So perfectly seasoned, it was like you were sitting in grandma's kitchen. Also, the bacon was incredible. SO meaty! Let's put it this way - my husband is a VERY picky eater (in that he loves all kinds of food, but he demands GOOD food). He had gone down to breakfast before me, and sent me a text that said, "Get down here! Best breakfast ever!!!" It was the best breakfast to send us off on our adventure through Carlsbad Caverns! The service here is definitely one of the best experiences I have had in a hotel stay. We came from a crappy buffet in Socorro, a 4 hour drive, and another hotel where the only room left was dark and depressing. Cue Gloomy Sunday. We called ahead to see if they had any rooms available for that night and the lady on the phone really took the time to answer all of my partner's questions. We had a question about the curtains or blinds being blackout but she was not too sure about it. When we arrived she showed us the room so we could make sure it was what we needed (they are blackout shades). Not to mention she was very nice and courteous about the whole thing. Of course checking in with her was a breeze and she answered our questions about food and other miscellaneous questions. Getting into the room was a relief, the room is very big as most suites are. The bathroom was very clean and included the usual Paul Mitchell shampoo, conditioner, etc. The hotel I came from that was just as expensive had ripped towels in the room for guests! So one thing I checked immediately was the towels, very nice and fluffy with no stains! The shower was sexy, a big attractive walk in shower with a glass wall. There was a little nook for a refrigerator, coffee maker (it may appear to not have a coffee basket, but before you call the front desk, the coffee packs include the disposable coffee basket), and a microwave. This is the next best thing to having a kitchen in your suite. The rest of the room is also great for sexy time, or just you know, for sleeping I guess. In the sitting area there is a couch with chaise, a big desk, and big footstools. Everything was in good condition with no stains, chips, etc. I always check for bedbugs before I put my luggage in the carpet area in a hotel room, nope no bugs. The bed is a latex memory foam mattress and was very comfortable. I am more of a soft bed sleeper so this was not perfect but at least comfortably acceptable (the best bed ever in a hotel I slept in was at The Venetian in Las Vegas, they use Sealy Posturepedic mattresses). The Marriott hotels also have comfy beds. The sheets were comfortable, not scratchy, and no stains or anything gross. There is a closet at the end of the bed with an iron, board, hangers, etc. We were put on the very end of the hotel past the pool on the first floor but did not hear any noise from pool swimmers. Now bring on the breakfast: eggs, waffle station, bacon!!!, sausage, some of the best sausage gravy biscuit and eggs I have ever had! Seriously you would not expect that from a free (well not really free but you know what I mean!) breakfast at a hotel. A lot of the standard items: juice station, milk cartons, muffins, toast and english muffins, coffee, cereals, oatmeal station, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something but you get the idea. An actual full hot breakfast, sometimes that can make all the difference to leave with a pleasant meal experience at the start of the day. One tip I like to give people is to make sure to use the deadbolt, swing door guard, and cover your peephole! Okay that last one did not sound right, but I want people to be safe and not creeped on. This place was absolutely safe, no creepers, very quiet, but sadly anywhere you go now has the potential for danger. We went down to Carlsbad Caverns which is amazing btw and I would definitely stay here again. read more

Our stay here was very relaxed and comfortable. We stayed in the King Suite and it was very spacious, with plenty of room to store all of our stuff for our 2 night stay. The closet was large enough for my husband and I to store our huge suitcase inside and hang up our clothes we didn't want wrinkled while my daughter had plenty of room for her luggage in the area with the pull out couch that it almost felt like she had her own little room due to the divider between the side of the room with the King bed and pull out couch/desk area. The bathroom was very spacious as well. The only thing that irked me about the bathroom was that there were no towel bars/hooks, but there were bars that looked as if they were for handicap accessibility, so I used those to hang towels and wet bathing suits, etc. In addition, there is no bathtub and the shower did not really have a step that divided it from the rest of the bathroom floor, so it was a challenge trying not to get water all over the floor while taking a shower. This was the only hotel we stayed in while traveling through NM with an outdoor pool instead of indoor, so that was enjoyable as well. After a long day of hiking at the Caverns it was nice to be able to go soak in the pool or hot tub in the evening while taking in the beautiful scenery. I also really liked the fitness room. After relaxing at the pool, I was able to go run on the treadmill and even though there were other guests in the fitness room, it didn't feel cramped. It's a pretty good sized room offering a variety of equipment as well as clean towels and water. The service was great as well. There is free popcorn, lemon water, coffee and tea offered all day long and cookies are made for guests every evening. Breakfast options included bacon, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, toast, bagels, etc. and they also put out the daily newspaper on the tables for your reading pleasure while you enjoy your breakfast. I noticed this wasn't always the case at every hotel we stayed in while visiting NM, so for me, that was a plus. Be advised, it is a 27 mile drive or so to get to the Caverns from this hotel and it is also on the other side of town, so one will have to drive all the way through town before getting to the highway leading to Carlsbad Caverns. I was aware of this before booking, so I knew what to expect and the drive didn't really bother me. Overall, it took us about 30 min to get to the Caverns. On the other hand, this hotel is right across the street from the entrance to the Living Desert Zoo. If you're going to be in the Carlsbad area, I would highly recommend staying here! read more

We stayed at the Comfort Suites for 2 nights. The hotel is modern and nicely decorated. The staff is really friendly. They gave us a goody bag at check-in for being loyal Comfort Suites customers. Our room was big and clean. The bed was very comfortable. They have a very nice outdoor pool. The breakfast was really awesome--eggs, sausage AND bacon, biscuits and gravy, waffles AND pancakes! Everything about our stay was great except for the lack of towel racks in the bathroom. I know this sounds nit-picky, but it was a real problem. The towels were stored on a shelf below the sink. There was one little hook behind the door and that was it. We hung out toiletry bag on that and we had no room to hang anything else. The hand towel had to go on the counter and when we finished with a bath towel there was no place to hang it so it went on the floor. After a towel is on the floor we would get out a clean one resulting in us using a lot of extra towels. Our whole family used the pool and there was no place to hang our wet bathing suits. We would stay at this hotel again, but I would hope they would have installed more towel racks by then! read more

We stayed here for several days with my daughter's softball team for the NM state softball tournament. The rooms were clean and the staff was incredibly friendly. By the end of the tournament we felt they were part of our team. We had 13 pre-teen and young teenage girls and they were so welcoming and kind to them. Breakfast was delicious and the variety was perfect and the lemon water was a perfect refresher on the hot days! They also have a wonderful grassy area in the back which we were able to gather as a team which was also wonderful!! Thank you for being so supportive! The room was super clean with no cigarette smells and was spacious. The only negative was the TV screen was small for the size of the room. I had an issue with my check-in, because I booked thru Hotwire.com and my reservation was not on file with the comfort inn, even though Hotwire gave me a confirmation # (be careful about that, it really doesn't mean much if it is not on the hotel's computer), anyways the front desk clerk Yoselyn was great in contacting Hotwire customer service and making sure we got checked-in and not double charged for the room.
