I will start off by saying the reason I'm giving this review a 3 is because of lack of compassion and sympathy for my situation. I am not trying to discourage anyone from using the services at Trinity, but I would just like to share my experience and my Concerns. They do offer low cost cremation a d don't try to upswell you. You basically get what you pay for here. After receiving devastating news that my mother was suddenly killed in a car accident I was now the sole person left responsible for my Mothers body, I have no siblings, no grandparents and have never had to cremate or bury a body, let alone a parent. So with a 30 day strict time frame from the medical examiners office I begin to call around asking about pricing and basic knowledge of cremations. I do some online research and stumble upon Trinity, they state on their website that they have low prices and seem pretty straightforward. So I call and speak to Jennifer, I ask a few questions and tell her we'll be in touch once I call a few more funeral homes. So now I've decided to go with Trinity, I call Jennifer back, it's a Friday morning and I explain to her that I would like to set the cremation up. She tells me she's right in the of something, asks for all the information regarding my Mothers whereabouts and my information and says she'll call me back. So now its coming up on 5 hours since we last spoke and still no call back. I call Jennifer back and she sounds confused, like she doesn't remember speaking to me this morning and wants all the information she just asked me for this morning AGAIN! You can tell she was busy by the way she's rudely explaining to me all the papers I needed were on the website And the medical examiner should have explained the process to me about releasing my mothers body to the funeral home. Funny cuz the medical Examiner said "pick a funeral home and they will help you with the process." After literally balling my eyes to this lady on the phone she changes her tone and says " Let me call my driver and see if he can turn around, so we can get your mom out of there." She continues to tell me she will email the forms and I can send them back. So I fill all the forms out to the best of my knowledge and she calls Me telling me I've left most of the form blank. Yup, I did because I already explained to you that I was basically estranged from my mother and my grandmother was no longer alive to help. She continued to read me all the questions that we're blank, like I would suddenly have an answer. She says ok well the death certificate is gonna be incomplete. So I tell her 'Oh well, that's what I have to work with. " The lack of compassion someone can have when working in this Industry, I guess I shouldn't be shocked. I understand that dealing with deaths all day every day as a 9-5 job, you become a little desensitized, but when your client just lost her mother and has no knowledge of the cremation or burial process you could be a little more compassionate and helpful without sounding like I'm burdening you. Now I got my ashes back in December and wanted some of cremains put into my personal urn and I was told NO, I need to do it myself. She gave me Directions on how to open the box and explained the dog tag, but ultimately sent me away saying the funeral home could not be held responsible for my urn. Before leaving the office Jennifer and I spoke about obtaining death certificates, due to COVID obtaining a death certificate through the county requires a notary to be involved. So Jennifer mentions that obtaining a death certificate through Trinity is a service they provide with a small service fee. Perfect!! I told Jennifer I would call her back in a few months to get that. Here we are in March and I reach out to Jennifer via email and ask her if the death certificate is still something she could help me with? Her response, "We can order certs for an additional $25 service fee. Or, call the county to get faster and cheaper."
To me, that response sounds like she doesn't want to help and wants to redirect me elsewhere. I tell her I don't care about the service fee I would just like to get it. I've yet to get a reply back, that was March 5th. Maybe this review will get her attention and I will get my mothers death certificate. read more
