We did note there were some not so good reviews, so......?? But we were very glad we stayed! Our server, Jay, was extremely friendly, answered our questions, and took good care of us without being intrusive. My husband had the Sunday special baked chicken, which came with parsley buttered potatoes, green beans, and a mound of stuffing under the at least three pieces of tender, moist chicken, and a fresh and crisp tossed salad. He thought the chicken was absolutely delicious. I had the liver and onions dinner, also served with parley buttered potatoes and green beans, and I chose a cup of chicken vegetable soup. The soup was very good and loaded with diced carrots, which I love. The liver was cooked just right, and as it was thinly cut, it had such tenderness, and as an onion lover, I very much appreciated the huge mound of sautéed onions accompanying the meat. I will say that the beans and potatoes needed more seasoning, and extra salt and pepper helped out, but even the liver needed it. My husband thought the veggies also needed salt. A small chunk of sliced bread was served; it was rather dried out, so we passed. While we both had food, primarily some of our potatoes and his stuffing, left over, we chose not to box it up and take it, as we had errands on the way home and didn't want to risk spoilage in the warm car. I say this only because the portions were so large - and my entree was supposed to be a "light" portion! We'll definitely be back, as we had very good meals for good prices; next time, we'll be sure to bring a cooler!

We didn't need the whole time because service was quick We had my Mom's 80th birthday party here as well so I've been here a couple of times. Yes they do cater to seniors and run some daily specials. Food here tastes home cooked and is always solid. The Thanksgiving meal tasted like it was cooked at home. If you asked for seconds they served it right away. We had a little leftover and I was shocked they let us take it home. Mom was so happy with her extra meal! I've had their fried chicken and roast beef and it was solid. Nothing on the menu is going to be adventurous flavor wise but that's not why you come here. You are here for elevated comfort food like Mom used to make. The place is like a higher end family diner so it's not elegant but it's clean. Prices are reasonable so if you have older family members they will absolutely love this place. Plus if you just want a tasty meal it's worth it.
