I've always had the same dentist, and it's definitely a good way to do it. First of all, I should say that they recently renovated and for a waiting room, their waiting room is quite nice. I never have to spend much time in there, either. If I have an appointment at 11:30, I almost always get in by 11:40. This is one of the best things, I think, a health office can offer. Short waiting times. So, on to the actual treatment. They're a dentist. They do the horrible scrape-y bit, they polish your teeth, floss, and give you some nasty fluoride to stick in your mouth for a while. None of it is very fun. There's no way around that, so I'm not gonna complain about it. However, they are very thorough and keep up a constant stream of patter. Plus, they don't ask you questions while their hands are in their mouths; that can be very annoying. They're also very good for getting things done. Today I needed two teeth capped, they did it right after my cleaning. That is awesome. So, the people are friendly. They ask how I'm doing, what I've been up to. They remember me. The dentistry itself is good, they notice when things are wrong and offer good advice (more than just the token 'Floss more!'), and help you stay healthy. Plus, they have really groovy sunglasses to protect your eyes from the lights. What more could you want?

I did it purely because it was closer to my house, and came to deeply regret that decision. Dr Carr was happy to take me back and was able to help me with a potentially serious problem that the dentist at the other clinic missed. I also get my routine cleanings and check ups done here. The hygienists are great and I've never had a complaint about their work. Like most dental clinics, they will do direct billing to most insurance companies if you have coverage and bring your card with you.

Over the past year, however, I have learned more about my dental health from other professionals. This made me realize how poorly Herring Cove Dental and Dr. Livingstone had assessed me. When I followed up to see what happened on my initial visit a year ago, Dr. Livingstone got defensive and said because she hadn't seen me throughout my life, she could only go by what she saw on her initial intake screen and assessment. Sounds fair enough, except that other professionals could only do the same, yet they asked more questions to make better assessments and talk with me about my dental history and current health. Very few professionals will be able to follow someone their whole lives- this should never be an excuse for not asking questions to make proper assessments. I'm just thankful I continued to do my own research and was able to self-refer to a specialist. The specialist identified some pretty obvious initial issues that had never been discussed with me by Dr. Livingstone. In fact, had it not been for my questions this past appointment, they still would not have been mentioned or addressed. Again initially, I really liked this location and had no complaints. I would have happily and confidently recommended them. But after what I have learned the past month, and in the disappointing response from Dr. Livingstone, I will be looking for a different dentist to support my care plan going forward.

I was…read morenervous to start going to a new dentist however, I am now very glad I had chosen Lawen Dentistry. Dr. Lawen is an incredible dentist and is significantly better then the previous one I had been going to. To start, the office is very clean, the receptionist are always very kind, there is free bottled orange juice, apple juice, water and coffee to have while in the waiting room. The maximum time I've ever waited in the waiting room was 15 minutes (ie. my appointment was at 3:30 and we began at 3:45). The dental hygienist did a great job of my first cleaning, and even gave me a tooth brush and toothpaste to take home. Every time Dr. Lawen has done my fillings it's been quick and painless. He always makes sure you are pleased with the end result and encourages you to come back if the "bite" doesn't feel right to you and he will adjust it. At my first appointment with Dr. Lawen he asked me if there was anything I didnt like about my teeth, and I mentioned a small discolouration on my front tooth. So, I had gotten a teeth whitening package to use in the evening. The whitening really hurt my teeth as they are very sensitive however, I didnt want to pay the price to try something else so I decided to just give up. But, at my next appointment when I had told this to Dr. Lawen about my trouble whitening, he gave me a new package to whiten my teeth during the day for only 20 minutes (because it causes less sensitivity issues) for free! My front tooth is now the perfect white after the whitening and Dr. Lawen filling in the discolouration spot with a filling. Its an amazing difference. I think Dr. Lawen truly cares about his patients, he always informs me of cost of anything, he does everything quickly and efficiently and he always makes sure I'm happy with results. Highly recommended!

Dr. Lawen, himself, has not only conducted himself professionally at all times, but he exudes a warmth and compassion that should be standard at all dental offices. Lori has been my hygienist for longer than I can recall, and while there are other well-trained and highly competent hygienists working alongside her, I would never consider losing her in that capacity. I had two new crowns installed a year ago, and the procedure went flawlessly. I am scheduled for another next month. No reservations or concerns on my part because there is no downside to it.

The child's mother informed them that their ride was far away(30+ minutes), and regardless of this, the couple were escorted out the back door, and the mother and child were left on the sidewalk while the SIX year old could not hold up their own head, nor stand. Several people drove by and asked the pair why they were sat on the hot sidewalk while the child screamed. Once the pairs ride had ARRIVED, a hygienist came outside and approached the mother while getting into her vehicle and exclamation she was "unaware" that their ride was far away, and that they may come back inside to wait for the vehicle that they were now GETTING INTO. Someone messed up big time here, and they didn't try to correct it until someone that saw this pair sat in the heat went into the building and expressed concern for the pair.

"Unbelievable" orthodontic consultant…read more I have already visited seven orthodontic clinic and this is the only one that neither do any professional check(e.g. x-ray, photo) nor free. All I did here is an assistant introduced me invisalign and braces, and then a doc came and did some simple check. Then the doc said: yes we could do it. Done. No advice, no plan. I even hesitate can they really do orthodontic treatment. The most surprised me part is it charge me without any informing. I have done this consultant in seven clinic and none of them charged me(while that maybe not usual), one of them informed me before I booked the appointment(so that I could decide if I would go). For general dentist request, I don't know. But for orthodontic, definitely not.

They remember me, and are always up for small talk, sometimes hard to do since i have my mouth full. Very clean, very organized. The normal cleanings are fairly quick, and i am always told I need to floss more. I always leave with some floss and a toothbrush. I can't say it doesn't hurt from time to time, especially that damn drill! But I can't imagine any dentist not hurting from time to time. If you are in need of a dentist, i recommend anyone here!

They let me leave in pain and took $100 from me. How sad is this, I was absolutely shocked they wanted me to live with this pain until January. I made an appointment with a clinic in Bedford and had the tooth repaired the same day of my visit to Lacewood. I am shocked by the lack of urgency, empathy, and basic patient care demonstrated during this appointment. I took time out of my day, drove to the clinic in pain, and left in the exact same condition -- only poorer and extremely disappointed. For comparison, I contacted another dental clinic today, as a new patient, they immediately made arrangements to treat me and address the issue so I could be pain-free during the holidays. This is the level of care I would expect from my regular dentist--especially for a straightforward repair that could have been completed quickly. The dentist I saw today showed no concerns for my suffering and no willingness to help. That lack of compassion and professionalism is unacceptable in a healthcare setting. The staff are so friendly, and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Stephen Creaser has a true passion/love for his job. So at the end of your appointment you get to see (from his view) what he did, why and how! Its pretty (gross) cool! Dr. Creaser's prices are really reasonable too!
