I visited their location on December 23 with a very painful tooth that lost its filling. They x-rayed and told me yes, the filling came out but they don't have time to fix it. They let me leave in pain and took $100 from me. How sad is this, I was absolutely shocked they wanted me to live with this pain until January. I made an appointment with a clinic in Bedford and had the tooth repaired the same day of my visit to Lacewood. I am shocked by the lack of urgency, empathy, and basic patient care demonstrated during this appointment. I took time out of my day, drove to the clinic in pain, and left in the exact same condition -- only poorer and extremely disappointed. For comparison, I contacted another dental clinic today, as a new patient, they immediately made arrangements to treat me and address the issue so I could be pain-free during the holidays. This is the level of care I would expect from my regular dentist--especially for a straightforward repair that could have been completed quickly. The dentist I saw today showed no concerns for my suffering and no willingness to help. That lack of compassion and professionalism is unacceptable in a healthcare setting. I will NEVER return and would suggest you find a better clinic as there are many here in Halifax, stay away from Lacewood dental and or anu corporately owned smiles clinic, they are terrible and all about robbing us. read more

On Thursday, December 11 2025, I had a dental appointment with Dr. Stephanie Major at Lacewood Square Dentistry to do a filling on one root-canal tooth and another tooth on my upper right side. During this visit, Dr. Major worked on my upper-right wisdom tooth without asking my permission or even mentioning that it needed any treatment. I know this tooth was completely healthy--I had checked it several times before. When I realized what had happened and asked why she had touched that tooth, she became nervous and said it "needed cleaning" because it was beside the root-canal tooth. That explanation made no sense to me. She then showed an X-ray and a chart that didn't match the correct side of my mouth. I left feeling shocked, violated, and disrespected. My healthy tooth was unnecessarily drilled and filled, and I was later told something different again--that it already had a filling that needed replacing. I know that was not true. At the end of the appointment, the billing desk also tried to charge me 10 % more than my insurance coverage until I pointed it out. I'm writing this review because I want people to be aware and to always verify what work is being done before the dentist begins. This experience made me lose all trust and I hope no one else goes through the same situation. read more

I have been with this dentist with seven years. After I got my implant and crown done about seven years ago, I get good quality care of my dental hygiene and fillings. My dentist, hygienists and front desk staff are excellent and caring. I got done my regular cleaning yesterday and the hygienist was very good and did a superb job. She is very friendly and caring person. read more

Got into appointment fast, had a filling on my front tooth that had chipped , looks great and feels great. , they are always very pleasant ,

Dr. Major spent only minutes with me only to tell me I have 2+ invasive procedures to be done on my otherwise well taken care of teeth and came up with 4 different cavities... I was highly skeptical so I went to my previous dentist Dr. McNeil at Joe Howe dentistry for a second opinion and he nearly laughed at her diagnosis. In addition to her nearly-unethical approach at this point, she was as cold as a refrigerator. I highly, highly do not recommend. P.S. Nicole was freaking awesome though. read more

I've always had issues with dentists in the past either being too aggressive or ones that make you do unnecessary dental work. I have Nikki as my hygienist and she is phenomenal. She's gentle and does an amazing job! As well when I've had to get fillings, Dr. Major and Nicole were fantastic. Always made sure I was comfortable! read more

When it comes to dentists..I'm scared as he'll of them.. too many bad experiences that I wish I wouldn't remember! So when a person like me decided she needed to go to a dentist..it means it was my last resort.. I was told that Dr. Dube is the best for a freaking mess like me and he sure was! Actually everybody there were kind and understanding of how stressed and anxious I was.. they didn't judge me for not visiting the dentist more often and all they cared about is easing my pain!! The first visit was mainly exams and checkups to identify the problem..and they managed to find me a specialist who can handle my root canal and anxiety. .they treated matters with urgency..and made it all good.. After visiting the specialist and got my root canal surgery done Dr Dube rushed me in to get the other operation going..extraction of another molar! He explained everything to me and did his best to calm me down. It wasn't easy..but it went really well! Thank you Dr Dube..Paige and everyone else that made my nightmare of going to Dr's better and reduced my fear of them! read more

Staff are super-friendly, the dentist discussed treatment options fully and they never seem rushed. Appointments are kept on time.

I was a client with this dentist office for 8 years. We are a family of 6. In October 2010, after spending over $1,000 (my 20% portion) at their office within two months, my son had some dental work done which I had partially prepaid. I was to pay the balance of $130 when I paid for the next appointment. One hour before I was paid, another of my children was booked for two fillings. Because I had not yet paid the $130 remaining, the dentist refused to provide service (fillings) for my 13 year old son. When I went back to the office and paid the amount owing one hour later, the dentist told us we were no longer welcome at this office and to find a new dentist! We were NEVER told we had to pay IN FULL before further service would be provided. I have insurance coverage for 80%, but unless you pay the amount owing from your appointment, all further service is refused! This dentist office does not need your business. I never carried a balance over $200 and never more than 15 days. read more

I'd give a zero if I could. I've never had a good experience with the dentist, and they were pretty much par for the course. They were more concerned with getting paid then my comfort levels. I told them that I was uncomfortable with needles, and I had a general aversion to dentists. I even explained why. I requested gas, instead of freezing. (because of the needle thing.) She insisted that we do freezing. It wasn't until we went in circles about that for about 5 minutes that she informed me that she isn't licensed for gas. That's fine, but their website says they are. That's when I left. Other highlights of the visit include choking on the x-ray thing the assistant jammed in my face, and getting a sensitive tooth blasted with cold air, after I told them it was sensitive. read more
