It took a while to book my initial appointment, but it was worth it. All I want is to get my back cracked, I got that and more. In our first consultation, he checked my mobility and movement and assessed that I have a mild form of mechanical pain. He created a treatment plan of 5 sessions and included exercises that would help develop my core to prevent injury during sport/workouts and improve my posture. He went beyond that by providing a brief high-pressure targeted deep massage at the beginning of the first and each subsequent session. I wouldn't say it's relaxing, but I love the pressure. He'll adjust based on your tolerance though my motto is no pain, no gain, so I take it full on. We worked mainly on my upper, lower and mid-back. *TIP* If you want to work on your back, wear a tank top instead of a strappy sports bra. I've been working on those three exercises he taught me each day. I would say they are easy enough to add to your routine and incorporate daily. Oh and it's always wonderful when a clinic charges directly to my insurance, saves all the pain of admin work.

Great experience! I…read morewas specifically looking for somewhere that offered IMS (intramuscular stimulation) which is a type of dry needling. I'd had really good results with the technique previously and wanted to try it on my tight calves. A Facebook friend mentioned being treated here so I did a bit of investigating. They're really quick to answer emails and very helpful! It took a while to organise an appointment-a mixture of them being busy and me having to work. When we managed to coordinate schedules, it was really easy. I was allowed to book by email and got a time that suited me! The space is really lovely. It's all open in the centre with lots of light and shiny wood floors. Individual treatment rooms are off to the side which was really nice. Can't say I love going to physio and being in a row of beds as if it's an old style ward. I like my privacy! Especially when I'm paying for it. My reception was friendly and I was given the usual intake forms and then it was just a short wait before my physio arrived. I had Carl who was fabulous. Really friendly, very thorough and excellent clinically. He picked up on stuff without me telling him which is always a good sign. He also didn't just look at my calves-he was more holistic and system-based which I also liked. There were moments when I didn't completely love him (like when he was putting needles into my chronically tight muscles) but overall I have only praise for him! I particularly liked it that he didn't try to book me in for more sessions. It was left open-ended...I can go back if I need to. I don't like being stuck going back forever and ever. Rates are pretty standard I think. It's $110 for the first session which is stated to be 45 minutes. I think it was at least that if not slightly longer. Follow-ups are $60 for 20 minutes and $70 for 30 mins. I think most places are that expensive though. And I escaped with a one-off. Think my calves feel better. Despite disregarding all the post-procedure advice. Sorry Carl!

Full disclosure I came for 3 or so appointments. My physiotherapist came to a similar conclusion about my injury as my family doctor had, which was a positive first sign. From there, I felt like I barely saw my physiotherapist and when I did, she seemed rushed. A half hour appointment would consist of having ultrasound and TENS machines used on my knee (TENS machine is you lying alone in a room with the TENS machine for 15 minutes), so I'd have human contact for literally 5 minutes out of the half hour I was there. It just didn't seem worth the money and most importantly, the time spent. Any physiotherapist can give you exercises to do, but it takes the right one to truly be invested in your care, spend the time with you and ensure you're making progress week after week. All in all I felt like this clinic relied way too much on the use of ultrasound and TENS machines (at least for my particular injury), and the lack of person-to-person care made me take my bum knee elsewhere.

In that time, I have seen a number of…read morehealth practitioners (chiropractic, physiotherapy, massage therapy and Chinese medicine) there and have always felt like my concerns and treatment was taken seriously and addressed to the best of their ability. I am also seen on time which is a rare thing in a doctor's office! The staff, doctors and practitioners here care about their patients. Reagan - for a massage that is out of this world, especially if you like deep tissue vs "light and fluffy". Jumy - for TCM, helped me address some issues through acupuncture and other treatments, which I use as an integral part of my health care. Last but not least, Dr. Lee has been my chiropractor for over 15 years, and he is the reason I first came to the clinic. In that time I have sent my husband, my mother with spinal issues, my grandmother and several other family members to see him. Dr. Lee focuses on the root cause of the problem, never just an "adjustment and done". Over the years, he has helped me recover from a knee injury, repetitive strain in arms and shoulders, back pain. He has also helped me be more aware of my body alignment and areas to strengthen, which keeps me out of his office, rather than in! To support his patients, Dr. Lee is always striving to further his knowledge and techniques, to work in partnership with other health care providers even when they are outside of his clinic, and genuinely cares for his patients and their well being and experience. I gladly continue to come to the Adelaide Clinic as partner in my health care.
