Beyond bizarre situation with these totally unprofessional and rude people.
It all began with them using snarky remarks towards my mom in text messages. That was the first red flag. From there, the old woman (the large and in charge leader of the bunch) proceeded to take a week vacation before the sale and returned with only 5 days to set the sale up, take pictures/price every item, and market the estate sale as a whole.
This disregard for our time was incredibly unprofessional and was enough to say goodbye, but we proceeded with the sale to see what we could do.
In the days during the set up of the sale is when their vile disguises wore even more thin and their fangs began to show.
I had a section of the house blocked off and asked them not to go past that area as nothing there was for sale at all. When I returned home on the second day the area was breached. I noticed some expensive jewelry was missing from the table and in a panic called their contact number and demanded to know why they were back there and where the jewelry was. They claimed they needed to access electronics back there. Fortunately, my girlfriend stopped by while I was out and had hidden the jewelry and a few other valuables from sight. Very strange, I still do not know what they were doing back there or if anything was taken, we are dealing with a lot to move right now but either way, yet another slap in the face to the customer. These people display zero respect for those that are working in tandem with them and their inner misery is glaringly apparent during every interaction.
This situation devolved with the old leader of the 3 women demanding that I leave the house while they were there. I was asked by my dad to go there daily and oversee what they were pricing items at and how they were handling things as well as just generally helping clear out garbage and unsellable stuff.
When we said that we must have a representative of the homeowners present at the sale they claimed they could no longer proceed with the sale. They didn't like that I was asking so many questions, I saw through their veil and knew they were up to no good.
But this is just the beginning of our odd encounter with Trident Way.
I went out of the front door around 8pm the night they quit the sale as I had a feeling to look out there; I knew these ladies were up to no good and I knew they'd be vengeful for their lost time. Sure enough I look down the street and I see the older woman's van parked down the street in the dark with all the lights off. They must have seen me and immediately turned the car on and drove into our driveway.
From the car emerged a crew of the woman's family definitely looking for trouble and to intimidate. Her son, as she mentioned in the early days assuredly as a scare tactic of an odd sort, was an ex marine or navy seal (she said he was a seal one day and a marine the next so I'm assuming she's lying here as well but who knows) and had a very disturbing, empty look in his eye. I told these people they would not be entering the house and I would get their belongings peacefully so they could take them from the front door. I said the other option is that I'll call the police. The old woman then said she was calling the police so I said that's ok and began packing up their stuff while the police had to waste their time and come oversee this petty situation. So the police arrived and I told them what was going on and they said can we just help them get their stuff and we'll leave. That was a fair solution and assuredly they'd start no problems with the police there so sure, no problem at all. Wrong. The mentally deranged son began yelling nonsense at me while we were cleaning and the maniac was yelling over the police to the point of them having to escort him out of the house. They knew they looked bad. After a little while they removed their signs, small tables, and clothes and left the house for good.
Please, heed my words, they are not working in your best interest at all. We suspect they were pricing stuff very low and buying it on the side to flip for sale much higher. $600 for the pool table we had was a laughable price; Couple that low price with their exorbitant 45% fee and we'd have walked away with around $300 for the table. Absolutely unacceptable and that would have been the same with many items. Further proof was that the daughter had a Facebook Marketplace account with many ratings and many things listed for sale that were not a part of any current estate sales.
In short, the old leader's ego got the best of her. Avoid doing business with these people. Check the hidden reviews on their Yelp page as well, they can be found by scrolling to the bottom of their profile page. Somehow they are having many negative ratings hidden from their Yelp profile page and we were shocked to discover them after this very strange scenario unfolded.
Also note that of the few reviews not hidden on their profile the daughters left 2 of the read more
