We had no issues when we decided to look into purchasing plans for my husband and I. Vicky came to our house and was very informative. The decision was easy. A few months later when I discovered an issue with my policy I tried to reach out to customer service. It was a little daunting to try and reach someone but I was finally able to get someone on the phone - I had a difficult time understanding the person on the other end and I'm pretty certain I reached a call center in a foreign country. That's nothing new these days but when the gentleman asked for my social security number before taking any info from me - I immediately disconnected. I decided to reach out to Vicky. She directed me to the Palm Desert office and said I should ask to speak with Janet. I called but got voicemail so I left a detailed message. No callback. I called on another day and left another message -- this time simply asking if anyone could just call me back to help me with this issue I discovered. No callback. It's been a couple weeks now. Nothing. I've gone to another company and started the process of signing up with them and my husband and I will be canceling with Trident Society. I need to know that I can reach someone directly for a simple issue throughout the years that we have our policies and I'm glad I found this out before dealing with a death. I've read some good reviews and I wonder if perhaps I've fallen through the cracks? I tried the normal customer service number but had a very bad experience - then tried the agent who sold me the policy directly but she asked me to call the office which I did and left a message. Twice. This experience alone was enough to just cancel altogether. Very disappointed . read more

The experience I have had with Trident Society of Rancho Mirage has been horrible. My Mother died on Sunday, May 1. She had a prepaid arrangement with Trident. I called and they picked up her body as planned. I then called them, gave contact info. They continued to call the wrong contact number. This delayed the process. Once I finally got into contact with them I corrected info that they had wrong - transposed numbers, wrong first name. They then were supposed to email me paperwork. It never arrived. I called again and got paperwork - with the wrong name. Took time to get that corrected. I asked that they call me with cremation time. They never did. I finally got in touch with them after no return emails or phone calls. My mother was already cremated. Communication and compassion are lacking at this location. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. I do NOT recommend this service at all, it is such a waste of time trying to get someone from customer service to help you. Just locating my account, trying to log in, anything at all pertaining to my existing account is such a headache. I cannot imagine leaving this behind for my family to deal with if even I cannot get anywhere. I requested to cancel today over the phone with customer service, so they told me they will be mailing over cancellation documents. I wonder if they'll give me the run-around or actually allow me to cancel my account for a refund of my funds. read more

My husband and I signed up with Veronica years ago. We wanted to make our decisions before we died to make it easier on our family when the time came. We were very happy with all that Trident offered and we were impressed with the initial supplies sent to us. My husband died in April after a week of Comfort Care in the hospital. The family was worn out from lack of sleep and after sitting with him awhile the nurses called Trident. From there on they took over all arrangements that needed to be made. Death certificates,contacting the military, cremation, etc. They were also on hand to help with anything that came up whenever we needed additional advice. If it were possible to leave 0 stars I would. From the start everything went horribly wrong. I did a pre need arrangement. When the time came at my moms passing and I needed service I could barely even get them after the phone. I called at 5am in the morning to start and by 5pm they still had not arrived. I kept getting hung up on or they told me someone was going to call me back. I had had enough, i called another company and they arrived within an hour and took my mom for her final care. At 9:45 pm an employee from Trident showed up with ill fitting clothing, and the guy actually had exposed pubic hair sticking out of his unzipped pantz . I was mortified. Trident still has not refunded the money they took for us and haven't provided any service and i didn't even get the urn that they promised. I attempted to contact management, no one cares and they keep passing the buck and say someone will call back, they never do. DO NOT TRUST YOUR LOVED ONE WITH TRIDENT. read more

I was shocked to be charged an extra $425.00 for a 20 minute viewing of my loved one. This is after I had paid in full 15 years ago. The mortuary they use is clear over in Beaumont too. Plus they continually had problems locating where the body was. read more

In today's service environment it is so hard to just get a response from a company, but they go above and beyond! Vicky and Melissa were very responsive right away and throughout the entire process. From Vicky making sure we received the correct package and obtaining everything we needed, to Melissa implementing and executing on our wishes. They were both very professional and new exactly what was needed in such a stressful situation. The care of my father was handled wonderfully and I couldn't have imagined a better outcome. Tried the Rancho Mirage number, the 1800 number and even the Orange County number and still no answer and their phone tree doesn't direct me to a actual live person. My father passed unexpectedly, but had pre arranged with trident society a few years ago. It was pretty simple to call and inform them of his passing. They quickly took down his info and his location. They had my dad in their care, in under 4 hours. Hayli was our director, and she did a wonderful job keeping us updated. All the office staff was very patient, very calm and very helpful. No one rushed the appointment times and no one tried to upsell services/products to us. Very clear and transparent pricing. The staff was all very kind and sympathetic, I felt like they genuinely cared for my dad like a family member. They made an extremely difficult time, easier to navigate and a bit better. read more

Worst service ever!!! I used there own site to order flowers for a loved one, the florist could not deliver the arrangement because they said that person was not there!!! I called and they told me to have the arrangement delivered there so they would make sure they were at the service. I know this is a cremation society but they still do funerals, when I called today the girl that answered the phone was not very smart, she said this is not a mortuary!!! Really!! They use a crematorium out of the area. Took a month to get my husband cremated. I later learned the date they told me was wrong. I was able to get death certificates from the courthouse over a week before they finally sent me some. They are totally unnecessary. Go directly to a crematorium. Leave out the middle man. TERRIBLE SERVICE! My father was not cremated until over 3 weeks after his death. The Coordinator did not explain to us the process/steps or what to expect. I asked the Coordinator for the process/steps but he said he couldn't tell me anything until there was a Death Certificate. Every time I called the Coordinator, I am told that he is "busy or meeting with a family." He doesn't return my calls until days later. When I do speak with the Coordinator, he is rude, not able to provide answer to my questions, and not able to tell me what the next steps are. Every time I do talk with the Coordinator, he rushes through the call and makes me feel like I am bothering him. When I ask him questions, he is not able to provide me with answers and always says, " I need to check and will get back to you" but never provides me with answer my questions. The information he provides are inconsistent and changes every time we speak. I have asked the office if there was anyone else that can help and I am told that he is the "Director" and is the only person that can help me. It's bad enough to lose a love one, but to not have the guidance or help from the funeral coordinator is unacceptable! read more

Appalled at the service. My 6 year old son passed and was treated like commodity. I was not given the opportunity to see him or dress him. When questioned I was treated in a very hostile manner. Will be contacting their corporate and I urge you to go elsewhere. Treated horribly by the staff just today upon inquiring about it. * Update in response to staff. My call was earlier this week, not from interactions two years ago. The person answering the phones was rude and asked me why I waited two years to address this. As anyone who may have lost a child, I have PTSD and it actually took me this long to feel comfortable addressing my concerns with your company. Your first interactions might have been with my sons father/grandmother but that is because he was covered under a grandchild clause. If you look at the paperwork of who actually signed for everything and interacted with staff and setting up cremation, and picking up the remains, that was me. His full legal guardian. *update to update I DID contact corporate over a month ago now, forwarded them documents and was told I'd receive a follow up call 24-48 hours. No call. Wrote again stating my disappointment that I didn't get a return call after a month. No response. Please go elsewhere if you want to be treated with any amount of respect. read more

We could not say enough good things about our experience, and specifically Randy. They say you can't prepare emotionally for losing a parent, and they're right, but Randy (and everyone we came into contact with after my dad's passing) made a difficult time much easier to navigate. I was amazed how quickly the team from Trident came to the house after my dad passed, and how thoughtful they were. I don't know what I expected, but they were so caring and by the time they left I felt like they weren't just doing a job for him, they were there for us. Randy was extremely knowledgeable, and very personable, and really listened to us. He offered suggestions and solutions and we never felt like we were just a number. I can confidently say this was one of the best decisions my dad made when doing his estate planning, and thankful that he did. read more

The whole thing with this location is extremely stressful. They handle a loved ones death with a total lack of empathy for the surviving family. First they sent me a docusign they day after we called to have my mom picked up from Eisenhower General Hospital. I sign, they call back 2 hours later and say they can't allow my signature until I prove I can sign. I live in Texas not California and my flight was not until the following day. They say they will have to leave my mother at Eisenhower General. After all day flying Tuesday we have an appointment on Wednesday in which they proceed to tell me they in fact did pick her up and apologize for the call I received. It then took 3 hours of back forth paperwork and waiting and the cost is double what a independent funeral home would charge. At this point I'm exhausted. I pay for it on my credit card. We are now going into the 3rd week of her passing and they state they received everything but will be sending in the mail at the end of the week. No sense of urgency with this place. Everyone knows nothing can be done without a death certificate. And here they have everything and want to wait 2-3 days then send it? That's in week 4 by the time I receive anything in Texas. Over all the longest time in signing and now here we sit. I would not recommend using this corporate society for a loved one. Get a private funeral home to handle it. read more

So far so good. I just purchase the travel protection plan, it will give us peace of mind that our cremation services are taken care of no matter where we are when we are called home.
