What Summerall Law, PCand its entire team provided went far beyond that. I would like to extend my special thanks to Albert Wu. His thoughtfulness, patience, and genuine kindness made every interaction smooth and reassuring. More importantly, he is fluent in Chinese and was able to explain and confirm complex legal concepts in the language I am most comfortable with. The feeling of being truly heard, understood, and respected is invaluable to a client. It is clear that he not only understands the law, but also understands people. I was equally impressed by Patrick's professionalism throughout the document revision process. He did not simply "make edits," but carefully reviewed and refined the documents word by word, patiently addressing every concern until everything met my standard of clarity, confidence, and peace of mind. This level of respect for a client's expectations and dedication to detail reflects a rare and admirable professional integrity. During the final signing stage, Man, the signing assistant, also demonstrated exceptional responsibility and professionalism. The entire signing process was well-organized, clearly explained, and handled with great care, leaving no stress--only trust--at such a critical moment. Looking back, what truly stands out is that this was never the work of a single individual, but of a highly collaborative, professional, and accountable team. Their respect for the law, seriousness toward client matters, and commitment to professional responsibility genuinely moved me. I can say with complete confidence that Summerall Law, PC is the most professional, diligent, and genuinely compassionate legal team I have ever worked with. In matters as important as one's life and family, encountering such a team is a rare and meaningful good fortune.

For a flat fee, you can buy the worst, least personalized, and most incorrect will/trust thrown together using a template that doesn't even closely approximate what was discussed. My husband and I had a terrible experience with Summerall law recently. when we told our friends, TWO of them had had the exact same experience with this exact same firm. This firm didn't spend any time explaining major legal issues, they skipped important questions, and they left major details out of our will and trust documents. They got names wrong, they got details wrong, entire paragraphs were left out. When we brought it to an ACTUAL attorney, he was horrified. For something this important, it couldn't be more critical to find an attorney that will spend time on your plans for your family after you die. Skip Summerall Law, they are a disaster. p.s If you need further evidence, the owner of this McDonald's lawfirm ADMITS in her reply below that she *doesn't even remember* having us as clients. That's what happens when you spend zero time with your clients, rush them out the door, and cobble together a template estate plan that doesn't reflect their wishes. DO BETTER.

Jennifer created a clear plan from the outset and followed-though to completion with very little help from the administrators, who continuously raised non-issues, to put it mildly. Jennifer kept everyone on track. She gave us peace of mind by discussing and answering all of our questions clearly, concisely and authoritatively. Her professionalism was key in helping the administrators understand and fulfill their roles. Most impressive was Jennifer's ability to remember all of the facts, legal issues, timelines, next steps and other important details of the case. She made me feel like I was her most important client. Jennifer's credentials are on-point. She is recognized by the California State Bar as a specialist in Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Law. Specialist designation by the California State Bar requires demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of the entire practice area. She holds an advanced law degree (LLM) in Taxation, which gives her the practical and theoretical knowledge needed to prepare, structure and administer trusts and estates while preserving wealth. I have been a successful, full-time, practicing attorney for over 30 years in San Francisco and Los Angeles, and can confirm that Jennifer is a superb attorney. She has my highest recommendation and respect.

Since the 2 stars (which equates to the "[service] could've been better") were due to the unprofessionalism and inattentiveness shown (not due to her being an LDA), I have no reason to change my rating or delete my review. TL;DR: Marizen is NOT a lawyer. She is a Legal Document Assistant that cannot provide you with legal advice. She is a significantly affordable option for a Living Trust but she is unprofessional and has poor attention to detail-- key characteristics that are paramount to detailing an important document. Details: I left a Living Trust inquiry via her site and Marizen emailed me back within 1 day to "text" her back for a scheduled over-the-phone consult. Upon speaking with Marizen it was clear she did not take the time to review the few questions I had sent her in my initial inquiry as she was confused as to what the consult would primarily be regarding. Her rates were significantly less than what other competing services were offering which raised an orange flag for me. Upon further research, I realized Marizen was NOT a lawyer, but rather a "Legal Document Assistant (LDA)." According to the CA Attorney General, LDAs cannot give legal advice. This was my first encounter with an LDA, which allowed me the opportunity to do the necessary research to make a more educated investment. Had Marizen gotten back to me with the necessary next steps and questionnaire as she had promised (it's been over 1.5 weeks), I may have considered her as a possible option to complete my Living Trust needs. But if you are looking for a more affordable option, perhaps Marizen is a good fit for you.

We needed to split up an estate that was going NOWHERE with a couple of siblings that had been dragging this out for over a year. It would still be dragging on today if we hadn't engaged with Dave to get it sorted out. He skillfully negotiated the final agreement and managed to get everyone on the same page in just a couple of hours - and I have to say that his rate was fair, he didn't try to bleed us out of billable time, and actually advised us on what NOT to do so as to keep the costs down. What lawyer does that??? Dave does. If you need a Trust or Estate attorney just start with Dave and don't waste your time and money on someone who will just work you for billable hours. Thanks again Dave!

I had never been involved in any type of litigation, but knew it would be expensive and time consuming. My biggest worry was how to navigate the legal maze, court system, and deal with opposing attorneys without stressing out and going broke. It was my good fortune to find Dave as my attorney who led me step-by-step through the entire case to conclusion over a 3-year period. After I established my goals for the case, he developed a strategy to attain them. No matter how complex events became, he remained focused on my goals. I really appreciated his efforts to avoid conflicts throughout the case, but was also willing to remove the gloves when it was necessary. Dave was a calming voice when things got heated in the case and clearly outlined my options at each stage of the litigation with their pro and cons. He was acutely aware of helping me keep the billable hours to a minimum by letting me do some of the leg work such as preparing statements, hiring appraisers, and contacting the beneficiaries. Dave consistently kept me up to date on the case and replied to my phone calls and emails within 24 hours or sooner. Can't say enough how I appreciate Dave's expert legal abilities and genuine empathy for me and my case.
