I don't use Contacts on a day-to-day basis and I told them when I went that I was only going to use Contacts for special occasions. I went in and I didn't even see a physical doctor. I ended up talking to a doctor on a screen which normally wouldn't make me feel uneasy but in this case I ended up regretting it. By the end of the week they gave me a weeks worth of contacts with my new prescription. I was excited and (at the time) grateful for a weeks worth when other places normally give out Like a days worth. Fast forward to about a month ago, I finally tried on my contacts....I couldn't see! It's so blurry I couldn't even keep them in for more than 2 mns as my eyes started to get irritated, watery and ache from my eyes trying to "correct" themselves. End result: I couldn't wear them, they're still in my cupboard. I decided to call when I had the chance to see if by any miracle they could change my prescription knowing that it had been a while since I had last seen them or better yet just go to a different dr with my prescription in hand. Fast forward to today. I called and I spoke to a lady (I forgot her name) who started off nice but ended up being petty and rude. I started off by asking her if I could get an email copy of my prescription because what she didn't know was that I was going to go to another office and show them my prescription so that they could see what prescription they gave me and see if they could correct it. She plainly told me she could not send it through email. She stated the only viable option was for me to pick up a physical copy, which I did not want to do. She couldn't even find me in the system. I was kind of thrown off, because why couldn't you send it through email? I just didn't understand as to what the big deal was but coming from a medical background Maybe there was some legal reason so I didn't push it. After asking some questions about my prescription she told me it was best to see the dr. I didn't even see a physical optometrist last time I was there why would I go back? To get another incorrect prescription? She laughed and asked why I needed my prescription then and I told her that I wanted a copy to show a real optometrist so they can see what you guys did wrong! Long story short she ended up calling me back and told me my prescription was void and that I couldn't get any sort of copy, so I just hung up. They won't even send it to another Dr because it's void. Legal matters aside, they should always send my previous information to a new dr whether they like it or not. Here's the thing, I understand that prescriptions are only valid 1 year and I myself understand that there are things u can't and can do but the conversation would've gone better without attitude from miss Visionworks cuz I can dish it right back.

Michele and Ty are awesome. Both are very knowledgeable and both took the time with me to make me feel very happy with my glasses. I bought two pairs of glasses and I am so happy with them. Ty told me that I could come back anytime for adjustments or questions etc. I feel like I have two new friends since getting my glasses. I highly recommend this vision center for new glasses. This is an update to my earlier review. I have to say, nothing has changed my opinion of Garber Eye/MyEyeDr in Kernersville. I still would not consider changing doctors to a closer office. Dr. Ellington is the best, most pleasant and informative doctor, of any kind, that I have had in a very long time. These folks are always very helpful, and informative. I have read some of the negative reviews posted here, and have to say, I had none of the problems or issues that they mention. If you choose the cheapest frames in the store, you have to expect them to be less durable and well made than a more expensive pair. I have purchased my glasses and sunglasses here for years, and never had a problem. They never, EVER tried to sell me anything I didn't want. I have had them put new prescriptions into old frames twice, with no problem or argument. I suggest anyone who had a negative experience give them another try.

Then one of the staff called me a few hours later and told me she ordered the wrong pair and that I will have to owe another $50 for the right pair. Earl, on the other hand, is just plain picky. This is the third optical (after Lenscrafters Greensboro and Garber Eye Kernersville) we've been to since last year, because we could never find glasses we liked. We both got a new pair here, so it was a pretty big deal. The selection is great. The service, on the other hand, is inconsistent. They were fine when we were buying glasses but not so much after. We called them 2 weeks after our visit, and apparently our glasses had been ready, but we were on their "To Call" list. Two women couldn't figure out how to adjust my nose pads. The first one was nice and sought help from another, and the second one said the problem was that I had a weak nose bridge. Thanks y'all!! They told me to come back the next day to get the manager to do the adjustment. p.s. Either Yelp has the wrong address or I'm reviewing the wrong branch. This is supposed to be on NC-66, not Main St.
