BUYER BEWARE: Regretfully, my husband and I bought a $500K+ mistake with Triangle Homes, LLC. Before we purchased the home, the owners impersonated that as a small family, owned business, they cared about their reputation for building quality homes--I think THIS WAS ALL A LIE to get us to buy with them.
While the home looks nice from the outside, we have STRUCTRAL PROBLEMS:
1.) A HOLE opened up in the garage floor and a big cavern is below it--my husband and I are scared to park our cars inside the two-car garage. We must park our cars outside.
2.) Improper drainage system has created a marshland in our backyard and a mud pit under our deck--we could not use the backyard the entire summer due to a FROG infestation, various insects and LIZARDS.
3.) Large, long cracks are appearing and running down the walls in the two-story living room and paint is chipping off.
4.) Broken appliances--The stove and dishwasher have malfunctioned in less than 8 months of use!
5.)WINDOWS allow insects to enter the home--the window screens have 1/2 inch cracks on three sides.
The developer has not addressed several SAFETY and HEALTH hazards around our property!
1.) A man-made SWAMP is a ZIKA MAGNET next to our home. The builder dug an approximately 2,000 square foot hole that is now pool of standing water! The unfinished construction project happened after Triangle Homes excavated a basement and laid concrete walls and left the hole uncovered for 7 months.
2.) Three LIFE THREATING dead trees loom over our home. A tree specialist said they appear to be dead for more than a year. The 4-story high trees could crash through our roof on three sides of our home. (We did not know the tress were dead since we bought in the winter).
3.) Mounds of dirt soar 10 feet tall and now have vegetation growing on top, with a fallen tree hovering over the made-made swamp on the abandoned construction site next door.
4.) We are afraid that children and pets could fall into the 12-foot hole that is a mere 20 feet from our garage door.
5.) The unemptied portable toilets for the construction project smells of sewage from 200 feet away--we can smell the stench from our from yard!!!
Please know there are many other problems--they are too numerous to list.
Triangle Homes, LLC, said they would address the issues above after we sent a letter, called and emailed in mid-July. In late July, the co-owner came to our home and said all problems would be corrected and they would send an written response. They have made NO corrections. Now, we must spend more money for an attorney to help address our concerns before the one year "Builders Warranty" expires in January 2017.
We are at our wit's end--with more than half a million dollars invested, we could have bought a home in most places in the DMV--unfortunately we settled on Danville Estates--which, for my family, equals a $500K+ MISTAKE!!!!!!! read more
