She also clearly knew her stuff and was incredibly knowledgeable about the process, explaining every step along the way. I was selling my home after moving out of state, and so I needed to have confidence it was being left in good hands. Janina not only made the process smooth and stress free with the sale, but she also offered to help donate things if I couldn't find a home for them before moving (I was on a tight timeframe). Further, she did a great job staging my home to look amazing. And lastly, she went above and beyond by swinging by the property frequently to clear a frozen condensation pipe so the furnace would keep running while the house was empty. We had estate property appraised by Taylor a couple years ago. Since the real estate market has…read morechanged so much we went back to him and requested a price on an updated appraisal. He came back with a cost nearly the same as the cost to do the first appraisal, which included a walk around of the 12 or so acres and inspection of the residence and other buildings. Since none of that had changed and there would have been no need for a visual inspection, I expected the appraisal cost to be lower. I asked Tom why there was no difference. He replied back, direct quote, "This fee is about the same as last time. I felt like we underpriced it the first time. Considering our workload, it would probably be best if you found another appraiser to do it. You should be able to get it quicker and maybe cheaper.". Basically, since he felt he priced it to low the first time he was going to try and make up for it second time around, thereby causing me to pay for his mistake. Nothing like, building customer loyalty huh? I have no problem going elsewhere, but if I hadn't ask, I would never have known I was paying for him rethinking the first appraisal price. I do respect his honesty, but not his logic. Wonder who else has overpaid for their mistakes in elevated fees and wasn't aware of it? Real estate market is good, lots of activity right now, but we all know it can't last and the relationships built now could in the future come back to help them in lean times or to haunt them. In this case he created a ghost.

At 12:20 PM on October 30, 2018, a representative from Berkshire Hathaway - Yost & Little totally…read moreignored the prominent but polite sign at the entrance to my driveway which states, "No Soliciting - If We Don't Know You, Please Don't Bother Us" and drove up my 600 foot driveway anyway. After exiting his car and ringing my doorbell, the Yost & Little representative said quote, "I'm not soliciting, but tax records say you own property in High Point, are you interested in selling it?" If that's not a solicitation, I don't know what is. I'm used to getting annoying cold telephone calls regarding property I own, but for someone to not only drive to my home and ignore my polite "No Soliciting" sign and then physically invade my privacy just to ask if I am interested in selling a property, is just too much.
