my husband took in a Makita scroll saw which he had accidentally dropped on the garage floor and it quit working. The saw had belonged to my father who gave it to my husband years ago, so he really wanted to get it fixed if possible. Dan checked a couple of things while we were in the shop but found that the repair went deeper and just a simple so he said he could get it back to us the following week because he was going to be closed for the next few days. True to his word he called on Tuesday of the following week and said that the saw was indeed fixed and ready to be picked up. I am new to the area and had purchased a Stihl pressure washer to clean vehicles. The foam cannon that came with the washer was very meh...So I looked online and saw that Stihl offered a better one. Armed with that info I started to try and find it locally. The store I bought it from was of little help and by accident I found Tri-State repair. Unfortunately I have to write this review because of very poor service we received from them. Our warranty company sent us there to have our Craftsman Pressure Washer looked at. We took it in because it wouldn't start, so they looked at it and told us it was blown head gasket and that they didn't recommend it to be under warranty. We needed it fixed because we use it for your business so we approved them to fix it. Then they called us and told us that we needed to have the "throttle cable" replaced as well and the part was on back order. We waited about for a long time it was over 1 month and we finally called them and left a message saying we needed to come pick it up, they called the next morning and the older gentleman said that we could come get it but wanted to make sure that we knew that part wasn't in yet so it wasn't going to work properly, it just meant that it wouldn't continue run unless there was someone adjusting the idle. We knew how to work with that and we really needed it for a good customer that needed us help them. We also had got a voicemail earlier from Jeremy and he said in his message that he got the equipment all buttoned up for us to pick up. Clearly Dan and Jeremy don't talk very much, because they were saying different things. We loaded up the our equipment and headed straight to our home and when we got there there was Oil leaking all over the inside of my car, we got it out and it leaked all across my father in laws driveway even when it sat there it continued to leak oil, it just poured out of it. This machine can only hold a quart of oil and it leaked at least a quart and half just in my car and all over the driveway. I called them right away and they acted so weird. The older gentleman Dan said well we told you not to take it, I said no you didn't in fact Jeremy left us a message and said he was getting it all buttoned up and we could come get, and when I talked to him Dan he said we could come pick it up and then just bring it back when the part comes in. Then the phone call got even weirder when he said that he was recording our call???? What does that mean and prove that they are shady and don't own their own work so they try to distract us from the problem they caused. Then I asked him if he had billed me for a part we didn't even get yet? He said yes, I thought that was against the law. Anyway I might have considered taking it back to them to fix the new problem, but the way they reacted to their problem they caused told me better. Then on further inspection my husband found that a spring for the throttle was all stretched out because of them, it wasn't like that when we took it in but we believe they did it when they fixed the head gasket. We also took my father in laws generator in to be looked at and they said it wasn't worth it to fix it. So we brought it home and after my husband looked at he realized that it was just the carburetor just needed to be cleaned, and he did that and now it works, no thanks to them. Their service is non existent and you can't be that cocky just because your maybe the only repair facility in that town. If you don't know what your doing all that doesn't matter. What a waste of time and money. I will drive to California if I have to before I would ever put another dime in their pocket. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID TAKING YOUR STUFF TO THEM. read more

This is my story. These are the documented facts. I took my Troy Built riding mower to these guys to have it serviced. Jeremy did the work. $497.25 later, $300 for labor and the rest parts. I got it back with the exhaust manifold disconnected and just hanging there, (no gasket or bolts obviously). After working on the carburetor, it doesn't run as good as it did, (the past 5 years) before I took it there. Jeremy did make a note on the receipt of the work he did and that "carburetor had been been previously replaced with poor quality aftermarket replacement" and that I declined replacing it with a new carburetor (verbal estimate of $180 or so). My mistake: I didn't inspect it closely enough when I picked up. And I expected better workmanship than I got for the amount I paid. I will fix everything myself. read more
