Even with holidays, extra requirements for Covid, etc, from the time the first "pay or quit" notice was posted, it only took 8 weeks before the deputies were removing a troublesome, deadbeat. Granted, the tenant did not fight any aspect of the eviction, and the court, and the sheriff's department were very efficient, Tele was Johnny-on-the-Spot with filings, prompts for my signatures, etc. Tele can't make the process go faster, but he can make sure every step is handled quickly, and most importantly, accurately. I recently heard of a local eviction 'specialist' who filed the wrong dates on a landlords paperwork, costing the owner extra months of rent. Not Tele. Tele is friendly and patient - explaining the details of every step, before it happens and adding clarification, again, when it happens. I was very grateful for his generosity of time, as he detailed every particular in the process and point that required attention. In addition to The Paralegal Solutions, I'd direct landlords to the California Apartment Association (caanetorg), if you're doing your own property management. They have every form you need; from screening to checkout, and a lot more.

This is an "uncommon" review from an attorney who lost a jury trial to Dixon Kummer--"He kicked my…read morebutt in trial." I graduated from a top LA law school and was trained and taught for many years by stellar attorneys in notable Los Angeles law firms and one multinational corporate law department with 650 attorneys around the world. Then I came to Bakersfield with my family and practiced law here. One memorable jury trial I had was against Dixon Kummer. I had been warned by other local trial attorneys to not underestimate this guy. I prepared well for my jury trial against Dixon's client. I represented the plaintiff, and Dixon, the defense. My client had, I believed, a solid case. Dixon had a very effective "just plain folks" approach. He was totally prepared. He conducted his defense with the highest degree of professionalism and honor with the judge, the jury, and with me. His closing argument was fervent and hit all the right buttons with the jury. The verdict was not a total defense win, but my client got only a fraction of what we asked for. The jury trusted him. I knew I'd been out lawyered. I learned to respect Dixon's skill and appreciated his honesty and hard work. We've never become "buddies". I've never gone to lunch with him. But we have a cordial professional relationship, and, I believe, mutual respect. I will not go to trial against him again. You can't teach his skills in a school. Lawyers who can charm a jury like he did are born, not made.

They helped me find the right words and guided me through a process that felt overwhelming on my own. Their kindness and patience meant more than I can express. They truly go above and beyond for the people they serve. You can feel their compassion the moment you sit down with them. I'm so grateful for the care they showed me during such a difficult time. The process servers at AMS are really good at finding and serving people for me, even when other companies could not. Highly recommended. If you read any reviews regarding them not being able to serve people, keep in mind that AMS are human beings like the rest of us. They can't break down people's doors, crawl through windows, jump over fences, or enter restricted areas. But they will do everything they can within reason and without breaking the law to serve whoever you need to get served. No process server will ever have a 100% success rate, it's impossible. But in my experience AMS has been more successful than others I've used in the past. If AMS can't get them, I doubt anyone else can.

I know because I called them and they told me she had SEVERAL documents that were waiting for her to pick them up. I called her when I received my copy in the mail from the courts, then she said she "just got it." That translated to me, "I finally picked them up." She was not aware that I had called the week prior and knew they were waiting for her to pick them up. When I called the courts to check on further documents and I told them who filed them, Affordable Divorce, they said, "Oh." This was normal behavior for her and her reputation is well known throughout the courts. My ex wanted to be served by Deanna and we contacted her. She suggested a day, and we tried to confirm a time. No response until the Ex sent her an email, a text, and called her. We should not have to hunt her down. I had to continually ask her to file proof of service so that I could proceed with the default workshop at the Law Library. This company is well known for its untimely manner of service. I went to the free workshop at the Law Library to file the default (no cost!). The first visit there they retyped Affordable Divorce's documents as they were not filed out appropriately. I then had to have the papers re-served! Divorce is stressful enough without the further lack of service from the provider. I asked at the Law Library why she was still in business with such a poor reputation throughout the court system. I was told that everyone is entitled to have a business and to submit a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, which I will be doing.
