I finally made the decision to move again after doing research for a vet with dermatology specialties and found Dr Cheryl Lewis. She said she was not a specialist in the field, but had knowledge in the area and would do everything she could to help him. She's truly amazing!! She has helped our boy by use of a few methods and he is so much happier and so are we!! Dr. Lewis is such a fun and loving vet. Both our Bichon and Maltese/Westie needed their teeth cleaned and one needed extractions; thanks to Dr. Megan Forgan who was so great with both of the boys! She was kind, considerate and passed no judgement, as I felt terrible that our one boy needed many extractions considering I brush their teeth!!! She reassured me that small dogs often have these issues as they get older. Then, our Maltese ripped his cruxiate ligament and tore the other under the knee, (the x ligaments under knee cap, which keep knee in place). Dr. Clare Leger, the orthopedic Dr. there told me she was not a certified specialist in orthopedic surgery, but had done many of the surgeries needed to fix my poor baby. I went ahead with having Dr. Leger operate. He is recovering really well after less than a month! He is putting his foot down and using the foot far more than I ever expected at this time. The poor fella had carried hid back leg around for 1 1/2 mths prior so I thought it would be a very long recovery. They do their own Blood Work, Xrays and other tests right inhouse, so it's a one-stop-shop so to speak. I love that my pet's results are almost instant. They do laser therapy as well which works wonders to help your pet heal. It helps to heal wounds much more quickly with the laser treatments which is a real benefit. After the past 5 mths of being in the clinic so often, I must say I really feel ALL the staff are just amazing! I walk in and feel I'm at home. I truly appreciate everyone there as I feel they do their very best for my two boys and me. Thank you to all of them from the bottom of my heart.

But the whole experience with Heritage Hills from making the appointment to leaving the clinic was smooth and reassuring. The lady at reception, Carla, was friendly and compassionate - you could tell she was an animal lover herself and understood my feelings. She had a very welcoming personality that made you feel at-ease. She managed to book us in for that same day, just a few hours later at a time that worked for me. When we arrived, they had no trouble getting her records from our usual vet, and they got her weighed and us in an exam room in no time. Dr. Khehra was very professional and soft-spoken with a friendly smile for his canine patient and myself. He quickly figured out the issue, did some tests, and prescribed a treatment. Costs of treatments and procedures were well described to me before anything was done, and were fairly reasonable, even with the numerous medications and tests my dog needed. I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone in Sherwood Park.
