If you are looking for a good, caring dental practice, this is NOT the one for you…read more I have been a patient of Chad Matone's for a couple of years. I was scheduled for a crown a couple of weeks ago. I went in and as the dental assistant was preparing to do my impression, she put entirely too much of the "goop" on the apparatus. I noticed it was a lot and thought it would be ok, but I was wrong. There was so much it started going down my throat (also got in my hair) and made me gag and cough for a full 10 minutes, trying to get the stuff out of my throat. I coughed up the blue stuff for about 2 hours after I left the office. Needless to say, after the traumatic impression try, I told them I wanted to reschedule. They pretended to be concerned and I left with the office manager apologizing and saying she would call me to reschedule. Imagine my surprise when I don't receive a call from the dentist, or office staff to reschedule. The office manager was nice enough to send me a letter via USPS offering me their services for 30 more days, but thankfully I have found a good Christian dentist at another practice I will be seeing from now on.

To start, I have been dealing with tooth pain from a failed filling I received from childhood. I…read morewent in for a consult for my options. I found then that my option was to have it removed. We worked out to have it removed a week from that visit. They gave me the needed antibiotics to keep any infection down for the week, which helped with the pain surprisingly quickly. On the day of the apointment, I arrived 39 minutes early and only had to wait 5 minutes to be called back! The Dentist and Assistant were very informative on everything that was going to happen, including my wife by keeping her informed as well, as she accompanied me just an earshot outside the procedure room . The tooth came out without a hitch and I felt COMPLETELY CONFIDENT in the staff in every step of the process. From the time I first called to set up the appointment to the time I left after the procedure, everyone was completely professional, pleasant to talk to, as well as extremely caring. Everything went very smoothly, quickly and painlessly. I would HIGHLY recommend this Dentist's practice to anyone in need of a dentist in the Hot Springs area, or anywhere else for that matter--they're worth it.

Dr Atkinson travels from his office in Hot Springs to do work in different offices around Northwest…read moreArkansas. He happened to be the only perio that my insurance Metlife would cover and he did my dental implant at the Monarch dentistry office in Fayetteville, AR. He is pretty nice and very thorough, but most of my communication was with his nurse Carol who is AWESOME. Very empathetic, very good bedside manner, spends time with you,and very good at giving you lots of information and answering questions. She kept in touch with me via phone and mail. During the actual procedure they were really able to put me at ease. I was getting a tooth implant up front because I had been born without an adult tooth there. Everything was easy -- they placed the IV without any pain at all. In minutes I was floating away to sleepy land and then I woke up and almost everything was done. I did hear some drilling at some point but never felt anything. The procedure was much easier than I expected and I don't have a whole lot of pain at the moment. Time will tell how things go as I heal for the next 6 months. I have another appointment scheduled with them in 1 month just so they can check things out, then I will be handed to my regular dentist to eventually get the abutment and crown. All around, it was a good experience and I shouldn't have been terrified. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because scheduling is a little tricky and slow just because they only come to this location about once a month. Other than that, I highly recommend!

I had all procedures in his private office in Hot Springs. Scheduling an appointment is very easy. The office is very accommodating. The staff are happy and knowledgable. Dr. Atkinson is a periodontist, but he places an IV better than any phlebotomist I've ever encountered. I have no recollection of the procedure. Recovery was quick (complete in a week), and the office provides close follow up to make sure your pain is controlled and healing is progressing. If you need an implant or any periodontal work, this is the place to go.
