First off I never leave bad reviews because stuff happens.. BUT when you buy a new product with a Extended warranty, the store / company should stand by it. Bought a STIHL 211 Chainsaw on 4/19/18 and HP Ultra Oil for a extended warranty on it. Makes it have a 2 year warranty. I personally have tons of STIHL products and love them. So figured I would buy a new saw for the house. Well from the beginning it was a little hard to start. So I figured being new it would need some break in time for everything, Guess I was wrong. I maybe used to saw 4 times within the year and not even running a tank of gas though it, Literally. Just cut some small 8in round trees down around the house "3 of them". So I put the saw away for winter and got it back out about a month ago and wanted to cut some firewood. Well it was hard to start again so I finally decided to drop it off at Tri County Rentals. Thinking the carb may need adjusting or something. Come to find out the Piston on the saw is scarred on one side. They claim it was because of the exhaust side of the motor got hot. Which to me doesn't make since because I've never had the saw running constantly. Then I get a call back saying it wasn't. It could be because a bad chain, again chain has only been used a few times and not even a tank of gas has been ran though the saw. So I was denied of a warranty because they cant find a manufacturer default in the product. I have pics of the piston and you can tell the saw hasn't been ran hard or has long use on it, piston doesn't even have carbon buildup on the outer sides. So paid 279.95 for a Saw that should last years like all my other STIHL products. But I got a dud and TRI County wont stand by the product. If you want to buy a STIHL product goto Arden Equipment, they said they would of replaced the product as soon as I showed them the pictures of the piston. Update: Now they said its going to be $150 to fix the saw "Labor". Or I can receive a $150 credit to buy a new one.. Why not replace the faulty product? If they offer the extended warranty when you purchase the synthetic oil DON'T. Waste of money.. read more

I needed a post-hole digger for a few hours because I tried a manual one to dig a hole for a mailbox post and I only could go 6" before hitting shale. They had a two-person model that they rented to me for four hours (much cheaper than a whole day) and it did the job just fine. I will check here first for equipment whenever the need arises for those types of jobs that you do just once, or once in a long while. For example, I noticed they had utility trailers for rent, and those might come in handy too from time to time for those special clean up jobs, especially if you don't plan to use it regularly, and don't have space to store one. read more

I rented a 2 man Auger from Tri-County Rental on Saturday 3/23/19 and the customer service exceeded my expectations as I received a tutorial on how to use the equipment during my pick-up. Upon returning it, I mentioned the issues I experienced during my rental and recommended it would be good to take a look into it before renting to another customer as it was quite frustrating to complete the work I rented it for. They immediately took my feedback into consideration and issued a full refund for the inconvenience. I can't say enough about how well Tri-County Rental is all about customer satisfaction. I rented a pallet jack from this location and when I arrived to unload the equipment, I jacked it up. When attempting to release the jack back down it would not go down. I attempted to put pressure on the equipment while holding the release and it would not go down. I attempted to YouTube troubleshooting tips and still I was unsuccessful. The company was closed until the following week and so when dropped off, it took their team multiple times to get it back down. The company gave me $13 back out of the $53 I spent. When I called and spoke to the manager CJ he explains that I jacked it up too high. I explained the troubleshooting and how I did not get I structured and he claims it was operator error and if I had questions I could have asked while there. Mind you I have used a pallet jack in retail and never once have I had this issue. I asked how it was justified to charge me that much money when I could not use the equipment for the I tended purpose, he tried to explain the mechanics behind the machine and at this point I did not get the situation resolved. I will be disputing with my bank, but in the interim, if you choose to go with this company I would highly recommend someone else. They ripped me off and I will not be renting from them again.
