I thought that would save me a considerable amount of money. I had never pulled a transmission and found it more difficult than originally planned. Regardless, I got it out and brought it to them. They rebuilt it in about a week. It cost me $1200.00. I thought that was fairly high. I asked Wade (the owner) if I had saved any money pulling it myself. He said about 200$. If I had known that, I would have let them pull it. Regardless, it is fixed and it did come with a 2 year warranty.

5-Stars! Experienced, Honest, & Integrity:…read moreI met Josh at the Kaz Transmission Allendale location just recently. I had heard some noises coming from our the Rear Final Drive Assembly on my 2019 Nissan Rogue. Josh later took the vehicle for a spin, hoisted it, checked a few things, and reached out to me about his findings. He presented me with some facts about the symptom and its remedy. He also explained to me the likelihood of other potential, very expensive drive line failures that could be imminent. He could have persuaded me to make a repair to the Rear Drive Final Assembly and taken my money. Instead, he dealt honestly, giving me the opportunity to make a wise decision based on his experienced perspective. The potential future investments involved were sobering. He did not attempt to persuade me in any way (for or against repair), just honestly told me what was happening, what was historically likely to happen next, and the costs for both. This I see as integrity. Wow, what refreshing experience. I so appreciate the integrity of the Kaz team. They have won a customer! I highly, highly recommend going to see them. FYI, Josh didn't ask me to write this. It wasn't written by Ai. I wasn't paid for this review. I am just grateful for Josh and the Kaz team. I simply felt that others should be aware and that, as Proverbs 3:27 says, "Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act." It took a little while for me to get in (about 2 weeks) but I was really impressed with the service. Everyone was super friendly and I was able to talk to the technician who looked at my car directly. They ended up determining that I didn't need any work done and the rattle was just a loose heat shield and only charged me $25 and sent me on my way. I'd highly recommend them if you need transmission work - and - given the wait time and the fact the lot was absolutely packed when I dropped the car off I'm guessing I'm not the only one who feels that way. I really appreciated the honesty and the ease of communication (texting!). 10/10.

This past week, the "check transmission" idiot light started flashing at me after only 17,000 on this rebuilt transmission, so I brought it back under warranty. Strangely, even with the warning light flashing on the dash, it drove fine, but I didn't want to take a chance of getting stranded. Turns out the torque converter failed and had to be replaced. Bob did it for free under the warranty and had the truck back in two days. Nothing like honesty. Honesty, competence and quick turnaround are about the only things I care about with a car repair shop. Most places struggle to achieve all three. While I am not amused my torque converter failed so quickly, I get it that sometimes excrement happens. The reason for the five star review is how it was dealt with, which was honestly, competently and quickly. What more can you ask?
