Rootz was within a decent walking distance and they were very accommodating fitting me in on the day I wanted and at a decent time. The staff were very friendly, knew exactly what they were doing, were very attentive and did a fantastic job. I am so pleased with the results the hairdresser did I will definitely be going back there next time I need a trim. What made it even better was the reasonable pricing, my hair was of such a good quality but only about two thirds of the price I would pay for the same thing elsewhere. This is a higher class salon than some with prices to match - a re style, cut and blow dry is around £38 minimum but this price does vary according to the stylist you get. The atmosphere is very stylish with a very comfortable seating area and I was offered a choice of free drinks upon arrival - from water, coffee, tea, pure juice, wine etc - it's up to you. The person who washed my hair did so very gently - a lovely head massage which was not too vigarous, follwed by lovely smelling shampoo and conditioner that left my hair shinyer than ever. The stylist went through every option and then he did his thing - what a transformation - for one thing he really listened to what I wanted and my tired hair was vibrant and sassy when I left. I have re-booked and my teenage son now goes here too as they gave him a very easy to style funky cut. I thoroughly reccomend.

Her attitude within the first few minutes was outrageous as the customer I'm not supposed to feel as if they are doing me a favor. It's not as if there aren't thousands of hairdressers around the UK. I was very tempted to walk within the first few minutes, but as I was a few minutes late I was prepared to let first impressions slip. I thought they could give advise on hair colour etc but on this occasion I was wrong, she couldn't even be bothered to talk to me, instead of my usual blonde I was thinking about different colour's of brown etc but it was evident at the start of our conversation she had no enthusiasm and in my opinion any talent. For less than £20 I got just as good a job as I would have at a more expensive place with less of the pretentiousness that seems to come along with modern hair salons. The hairdressers are very friendly and when I explained my fear of hair cuts (I know, it's weird, I'm convinced they'll mess it up and it sends me into a panic) the lady cutting my hair was very understanding and did the cut quite slowly so I didn't freak out. When I was having my hair cut, one lady left with an amazing colour job (reddy blonde) that looked fantastic! I must confess that I'm useless with names so I can't recommend anyone in particular but they all seem to do a very good. So I went in and asked for a dry cut, I had a women with black hair serve me. It was completely no one in there and I sat down asked the hairdresser I wanted this cut. She cut it for me, however I wanted the length cut more not really the texture cut in my hair. She told me, I would need to have a 'hair wash' if I wanted to cut it like an inch more. She told me she cut to as much as she thought it was, but it looked like she hadn't cut off any of the length that I wanted it to be cut. And I asked her again, if I wanted the length to be cut any more, just a bit more shorter, like an inch more, than she told me, I would have to have a hair wash if I wanted it cut any further. My hair was shoulder length and she told me that I 'couldn't have it cut any longer because I would need to have a hair wash!' I only wanted a drycut and I'm paying her to cut my hair to the required length that I want it to be cut, surely that is possible? Seeing as she is the 'hair dresser'. That was be on ridiculous! So, I paid and left. And I would never go back there again.
