I explained that I was a student and that I have been getting half a head of highlights for at least 4 years now so I didn't want to spend so much money on something I did not want. First of all didn't put a base coat on, then applied shellac ON TOP of my nail which when they started to grow out, caused them to start lifting!! Went in for them to sort out, the man that had been working on my nails filed them with an electric file which took the shellac off! I asked for the tiniest bit of shellac and the woman told me no because it was my infills? Baring in mind it was only a week old and they were messed up BY THEM. I tried to explain this to her but she shouted over me and I asked her for a second to talk and she replied "i give you 1 second". I consider this unprofessional and inconsiderate, considering it was due to their lack of training and ability!! Have reported on various websites and have contacted trading standards to acknowledge my understanding with business policies! AVOID if you want to have nice nails! Would not recommend even if they were the last nail salon on earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rootz was within a decent walking distance and they were very accommodating fitting me in on the day I wanted and at a decent time. The staff were very friendly, knew exactly what they were doing, were very attentive and did a fantastic job. I am so pleased with the results the hairdresser did I will definitely be going back there next time I need a trim. What made it even better was the reasonable pricing, my hair was of such a good quality but only about two thirds of the price I would pay for the same thing elsewhere. Her attitude within the first few minutes was outrageous as the customer I'm not supposed to feel as if they are doing me a favor. It's not as if there aren't thousands of hairdressers around the UK. I was very tempted to walk within the first few minutes, but as I was a few minutes late I was prepared to let first impressions slip. I thought they could give advise on hair colour etc but on this occasion I was wrong, she couldn't even be bothered to talk to me, instead of my usual blonde I was thinking about different colour's of brown etc but it was evident at the start of our conversation she had no enthusiasm and in my opinion any talent. So I kept it simple for her and ask for my usual blonde. The trainee's showed more professionalism than the stylist and understandably they are learning but with people skills she demonstrated they would learn anything . I have never met a more self obsessed, arrogate hairdresser and I have met hundreds. In all fairness to the rest of the stylists and martin's team they were professional and in my opinion it would be better to get rid of the deadwood as it is fetching the reputation of the Martin Brett Hair Shop down.
