This unique CDMX Bistro, Bar and Speakeasy, nestled in the charming and peaceful neighborhood of Roma Norte/Condesa just minutes to downtown Ciudad Mexico's Zocalo is fun and amazing to say the least. This eatery gives you outstanding upscale service and fabulous cuisine at incredibly super moderate prices! The staff is incredibly attentive, cordial and very open to tourists, unfamiliar with the intrinsic aesthetic and food culture of the community and the styles of food offered of different traditional styles. The uniqueness becomes obvious when one realizes this is an establishment that can cater to morning breakfast, Lunches or Meriendas, Dinner or Supper, Happy Hour, or Late-Night jaunt with music and spirits. It offers an extensive outdoor patio dining area, a very large indoor first floor dining area, an upstairs bar and restaurant, and the third floor even has a Speakeasy! There is a bit of everything for everyone, like us who had lunch, then came back another evening for a lively Nightcap! They offer an extensive range of traditional and local offerings. My initial visit was my first ever try ever eating Atta Mexicana (fried ants), and they were really crunchy and good! Our meals included: A wonderful rendition of their Guacamole with home-made chips, Mezcalita Pina Tatec, the Ladies all had the scrumptious Enmoladas (Muddled) de Pollo (Chicken) covered in fabulous sauce, and I had an incredibly huge, wonderfully tender, and perfectly seasoned, fall off the bone, pork shank (huge). The desert was a fiery Plátanos (Bananas) flambé prepared right before our eyes (please see my pics)! Mexico City does not lack any shortage of eating places, but if you're in this vicinity, give it a shot for any meal of the day or night. Next time we're in CDMX, this will be a must stop for us! Buen provecho ya'll!

    Tuna crudo - so delicious!

Walked into this restaurant at 9:30pm on a Saturday night because Paramo's stove broke down and they were no longer service hot food. I was so glad it worked out that way because this restaurant was fabulous. Though there aren't many Yelp reviews, there are hundreds of Google reviews and I suggest you skim those. Upon the urging of those Google reviews, I ordered the risotto, which is not a plate I ever choose to order. Oh my goodness, it was seriously amazing. I do not know how it is they got those flavors in that dish but I cannot recommend it enough. At the very least, order it for the table so everyone can try it. My husband had the lamb barbacoa. It was tender, flavorful, and delicious (although about halfway through, the flavor became a bit overwhelming). The tuna crude with beet and beet sauce was 1) gorgeous; 2) plentiful; and 3) absolutely delicious. The cocktails (mezcal tonic/malas deciciones) were excellent. The staff is so sweet and welcoming, and the manager came by twice to check on us. The service is really top notch. It's not an inexpensive dinner based on other nearby places, but you won't regret coming in here.

Amazing fried chicken sandwich. I'm a tourist and didn't come to Mexico for friend chicken but a friend who frequents in the Roma District highly recommended so I decided to give it shot. Boy was I glad he took me here. We first started off with an appetizer that featured garlic shrimp and rice. It was so delicious. The butter in the dish adds so much flavor to the shrimp. It's so good I ate the shrimp shell which I never do. I definitely recommend starting with the appetizer. The the main attraction was the delicious fried chicken sandwich which featured cheese, Mayo and other good stuff. I'm definitely coming back.

Very delicious subtle flavors. The decor is chic and service was great. The risotto is one of their classic dishes and it is super yummy. The ingridients are fresh. Stuffed squash flower with cheese, their guacamole and other offerings were also nice. We ordered the caramalized bread dessert, it looked fantastic but it was the only disappointment of the night. It was trying to be too many things

    Casa Madero Cabernet Sauvignon.

We then kicked things off with the arancini, which set the tone right away--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly done. For mains, we shared a spread and honestly couldn't pick a favorite: the Octopus Tacos were tender and packed with flavor, the Rabbit Tacos were unique and delicious, and the roasted seasonal vegetables "al mojo de ajo" were simple but so satisfying. The marinated pan-fried salmon and fresh trout were both beautifully cooked and thoughtfully seasoned. Every dish felt intentional, beautifully presented and well executed. But the real showstoppers were the desserts. The fresh goat cheesecake with orange, grapefruit, and lemon was bright and perfectly balanced, and the whisky chocolate crème brûlée was rich, smooth, and unforgettable. Desserts truly knocked it out of the park. Bonus points for the cocktails--my hubby was a huge fan. Great food, great drinks, excellent service and relaxed ambiance made for a wonderful overall experience. Highly recommend adding Temporal to your Mexico City dining list.

We tried a few juices, the chicken tomato salad and the salmon tacos. The salad was huge with a big portion of chicken, avocado and many toppings for a reasonable price. The tacos were smaller but flavorful. Taking off a star because my salad arrived almost 15 minutes before my boyfriend's tacos arrived and the restaurant was pretty empty. The lights were out in the bathroom and in part of the restaurant, so not sure if they were dealing with a partial power outage and impact to the kitchen. Still recommend for the food!

What really says it all? We loved it so much, we went back the very next day. This was the only restaurant we repeated during our week-long stay, which should tell you everything. The menu is extensive and thoughtfully curated--fresh, flavorful, and something for everyone. We tried the croissant sandwich, salmon deli nut sandwich, chutney mango deli sandwich, santos ahogados, fig chipotle deli sandwich, pear honey deli sandwich, and the spicy tuna deli sandwich. The sandwiches came with a standard simple salad. Every single item was delicious, well-balanced, and satisfying in that "clean but filling" way. The tables had two delicious spicy chili oil like condiments which elevated each of these dishes. And the juices--WOW. So refreshing, vibrant, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The perfect complement to the food and ideal for starting (or resetting) your day. If you're visiting Mexico City, Ojo de Agua is an absolute must. With such a wide menu, you're guaranteed to find something you'll love--and very likely come back for more. Highly recommend!
