I can't be sure if this is the last surviving member of that chain or if the name is just a coincidence and there is no relation. Regardless, if it is the same chain then there have been some improvements. I remember Cruise to be one of those cheap stores where things are badly made but you look past it because you can get a cardigan for ten bucks. This was not the case here. Some of the items were a bit odd and not my style, but I still spent a while in there so there was plenty to keep me amused. Not only was I impressed with the clothing, but the layout of the store was nice with lots of open space. It's not the highest quality clothing you'll ever find, but there's heaps of cute stuff at reasonable prices just waiting to be discovered.

The emphasis here seems to be on having the most noticeable jewellery possible rather than the subtle enhancement of outfits. They have chunky necklaces, hair accessories, hats, other jewellery and so much more. Really any accessory you can think of can be found here. The lady working at the time of my visit was very friendly and helpful; we had a lovely conversation during which I assured her that although it was overcast outside it hadn't started raining yet. Ten minutes later I left the shopping centre to discover it was in fact pouring and I had unwittingly lied. This is a great place for the younger crowd, and a perfect place to get a present for a teenage girl.

It is small so the range of clothing is not enormous, but there are some lovely items here, and the accessories are plentiful. It's a popular place, busy with young girls and their mums browsing. I saw a number of things I really liked, but without having an event in mind for their debut, decided it was best to hold back this time. The prices are moderate and everything appears to be great quality. I was surprised to stumble across it, situated in a tiny shopping mall opposite a Coles supermarket - not where you'd usually expect to find a trendy boutique.

I suppose this is not the appropriate place for my tantrum, so let's move on. This store comes across as a little of a disorganised jumble, but once you get past that you realise that it actually stocks a lot of well-known brands. Basically any form of men's clothing you are after, you can find here. There is work wear, formal wear and casual wear, along with lots of the most popular surfing brands. When I was there it was busy, full of men of different ages attempting to withhold the right to choose their entire wardrobe from their wives. Even though I didn't particularly like the setup, the staff were courteous and helpful, and there's no denying there was a lot of good stuff to choose from.

That's the grown up side of the shop. then there's Cylinder Surf Cleveland, a more recent addition to the store. They are adjoined, so you walk from one section to the other internally, but what a difference. Cylinder Surf is for guys and girls, and is on the corner of Bloomfield Arcade, so long windows on two sides are filled with cool surf gear. I like the summer and winter sales, when I've picked up some great Roxy gear, boots, bags, jumpers, tops, at really good prices. The range of stock is good for a relatively small store.

It's a large store, and the amount on offer certainly reflects that. Items in every colour of the rainbow, suspended on the numerous racks, line the walls and a maze of pretty dresses fills the floor space. I saw some things that piqued my interest, but most of the items in here were a little out of my price range. I picked out a beautiful blouse that turned out to cost somewhere around $100, before quickly placing it back amongst it's friends and retreating from the store before the staff noticed me. Despite it not being perfect for me, I noticed many happy customers browsing and some interacting with the friendly sales staff, so I think for the target customer this is a great place to shop.

While I posed in front of a mirror in the seafoam green, I realised that satin and silk aren't good materials for those who aren't in supreme shape. My beer gut was getting a bit too much attention. Back to the rack. You'll find all sorts of clothes in here. Dresses fit to wear to formals, casual daywear for older women, and I want to say 'beachside couture' (even though it's not couture) for the young and fit. I want to make note of the accessories. They are well worth the look. The pieces for the most part are quite contemporary with a beachside twist. You might find some sea worn glass pieces here for example. Expect to pay a little more. It will surprise you as nothing in the store says 'boutique' except the price tags. I was a little put off, but still, it was fun to swan around in beautiful, breezy dresses while I was there.

Not only does this store sell two-pieces, but they also have a range of attractive one-pieces - an unflattering swimsuit made of boring material is no longer the bane of those wishing to cover up. All of the pieces here are beautifully made using quality material. They also have a range of beach wear; mostly light dresses and some jewellery. If you want quality swimwear that looks great, or some expert advice, this is the place to go.

I found a number of adorable pieces of clothing made of very pretty fabric, but they were priced at over $100. This is not the fault of the store however, so keep that in mind before you decide this isn't the place for you. If you're willing to spend the money to get surf brand clothing, then this is a great place. It's not as big as some other surf stores, but the stuff they stock is really great. I was surprised how many things caught my eye even though the selection was a bit limited.

My daughter bought her father a Black rock gift voucher for $50 for Fathers Day as she couldn't decide. Being time deprived I gave it to my 18 year old son to go and get his dad something. They accused him of photo copying it. (yes that is theft and would not honour it and said it had been used and then took it off him. (not the case and a very upset son). Whenever I see that word I immediately assume the shop has one of a kind items and is beautifully designed. My dreamy definition didn't really apply to this store; even though it isn't a chain store, when I was browsing I felt as though I was inside one. Despite that, they had a huge range of women's clothing and it was certainly a pleasant atmosphere. I felt like I may have been a little younger than the target of the store, judging by the style of most of the clothing, but I still enjoyed having a look. Sometimes I get the feeling that the shop assistants are unhappy when I pay just a quick visit to their store, but that definitely didn't happen this time. The sales staff were lovely and seemed perfectly happy for me to have a quick browse.
