Anyway, I will make sure to go back the next time I'm in YYC!

Short story: This is…read morea great and very reasonable barber shop. You won't regret going. Longer story: I've been going to 1st Ave Barber Shop for a while now and without a doubt, it's my favorite place for a guys haircut in Calgary. Not only that, it's CHEAP! It's truly a man cave walking in there. They have an HDTV to keep you occupied as you wait. Ari (the owner) is a super nice young dude and usually offers you coffee or water when you walk in. I usually get a pomp and for some reason, it's a hard cut for a lot of people to get right but, every time I go here, they get it perfect. Both barbers have cut my hair, and they both do it exactly the same. This is something totally unheard of. Oh, and did I mention a haircut is $25? Not only that, but it's one of the very few places in Calgary that you can get a proper shave. I've gotten the traditional shave ($26) before and it was awesome. Check their website for a list of services.

Been growing a tail for half a year, and he shaves it off because it's considered a 'side' too. Figures. He proceeds to tell me I should've told him. I also pointed out that the right side is uneven and longer than the left, then tells me it's my hairline. So be aware that as a customer here, it's always your fault. To add insult to injury, when I asked him to wax my hair so I can see if he screwed up anything more, he gives it a half assed effort and I look like a wanna be Elvis Presley with a weak looking pompadour. Conclusion: it's not what it used to be. Take your money elsewhere.
