This spot is very cool, big industrial vibe. They lean into the greenery and plants around and it makes it so comfy. The canned beers are so good and such a deal! I like to stock up on the unique flavors and sours they have. Also the art on each can is unique and local! Not a standing food option but sometimes they have popups.

Trellis is such a vibe, inside and out! I visited this morning for a pilates class that happens the first Sunday of the month. A lot of other community events happen here, run club on Wednesdays, trivia nights, flea markets, etc. The inside is so spacious and has a lot of seating. The outside is an awesome hangout spot. I am a big fan of the Cherry Sour Jaunt.

    Right outside the building.

Great food, watch out for breakfast sandwich I got eggs runny all over me but it was delicious mimosas were tasty and the salad was nice crunchy and fresh, good dressing :) Burger was tasty too! Great before we went to derby!

Trellis Brewery has surprisingly good BBQ! My friend and I ordered the Smoked Brisket sandwich and Crispy Potatoes. Both tasted good, but the Brisket was the standout! The meat was thick-sliced with a good toasted bun and crispy tangy cole slaw. It was a hearty portion! The potatoes tasted fine and was a hearty portion... but $9 potatoes are a bit pricy The interior is a modern hip lounge with ample seating, and the outdoor area was more industrial. It's a neat place that I'd definitely revisit.

Interesting post-industrial location that reminds me of the ruins of a lost land. Beer is excellent, off the beaten path. Hope they add a food truck here ASAP!

New Brewery that just recently opened on Logan Street. It is a little hidden so you will really have to look but, when you see it, you will know. They have a huge gravel parking lot, not really a fan of that. They have inside and outside seating. Walking up to the bar and ordering was a little confusing at first but, got the hang of it. I wasn't sure what to order but, the bar tender was helpful enough and asked what beers I typically like. I went with a Mexican Lager (I forget the name) I actually liked that one. You can get big pours and small pours here. They don't have food but, if you follow them on Facebook, they will post what food trucks will be in on what nights. I do like this newer brewery and I do intend on visiting again.

We came to Trellis to celebrate a friends birthday. It looks like an awesome outdoor area, so we will be back when the weather is warmer. The inside was so spacious and welcoming. We also enjoyed the various beers and cocktails to choose from!

Outdoor patio with food truck nearby.

First time at Trellis was on a Wednesday around 7pm. Pulling in from Logan Street, it was not easy to initially see where they were. Trellis is tucked in the back of the lot. You first see a building on Logan St that looks like it could collapse or could be in a zombie movie. There is ample parking in a large gravel lot. Water station is one of the first things I saw walking in (always nice to have). Pretty long bar, which is where we sat. Didn't like the lack of a foot bar on the actual bar, but the stool had one. There's a clip under the bar where a purse (or dog leash) can be secured. The place was pretty loud with not a lot of people inside (I imagine it gets really loud when crowded). Dogs were barking from time to time. We were greeted quickly and got our beers without waiting long. I asked for a half pour of a Smoketown and my husband ordered something that starts with S (kind of an easy drinking session-type beer). I was given a large mug of beer that appeared and tasted just like my husband's (so I don't think I got the Smoketown unless it's identical to the S word beer). Beer was fine, no complaints there. Wanted to get some hummus, but bartender didn't return until we were nearly finished with our beers. There was some sort of food truck outside, not sure what they were serving. Plenty of room inside and outside on patio. Interesting graffiti outside (saw "pee pee poo or die" spray painted on the concrete wall). Music was what most breweries play (hipster brewery rock, if that's a genre), and it wasn't too loud. Bathrooms: they have gender specific bathrooms with a shared sink in between. Men's is the first door and Women's is down the hall and to the right (no symbol or indication when staring directly at the door). [Of note, do not be like me and open the door that says FIRE ALARM Control System Inside.] Women's room had two small stalls and a wheelchair accessible stall. Clean inside since they are new. No paper towels, just air blaster for drying. To return to bar area, there's a door handle to turn (so bring a tissue if you don't like touching things after washing). They have one TV that was showing a walk through a Japanese train station and strolling down the city sidewalk. It looked like they only have one type of bourbon (Jim Beam). Don't go: if you don't like dogs, if you are sensitive to loud noise, you want to watch sports, or you want to try a variety of bourbons with your beer. Do go: if you like fresh new breweries with a good selection of beers, need a spacious place for lots of friends to hang out, love dogs, like trying new places in Louisville, and enjoy brewery music.

Decided to explore trellis brewing for the Sunday trivia. It was our first time in the space. It was kind of surprising because you're in a gravel parking lot next to an abandoned building but trellis is this cute building that has been redone fabulous patio. There's plenty of space outside and space inside. It's a great location to be able to work from home, read, or just hang out with friends. The interior is cozy and comfortable. The bar is well marked. And they have great options. Also, the bathroom was fascinating with a very industrial look. I thought it was great to share the sink area between the bathrooms. It was such a beautiful area and I really enjoyed the ambiance with friends.

Nice, spacious, fun brewery off Logan St. Very industrial (inside and outside). Staff was friendly. Lots of seating areas inside and out. Beers were $7. Only 1 TV. Plenty of outside parking.

Trellis Brewing is a delightful brewery in the heart of Smoketown. The owners hold a wonderful passion of supporting the community and local agriculture with magical ingredients being sourced from Kentucky and Indiana. The brewery itself serves as a warm and inviting place for everyone. The intentionality put into restoring and repurposing an old building is evident in every element. Sitting off Beargrass Creek, they even partnered to bring in native plant species and I'm excited to see how their outdoor space expands. For now though, it's perfect as-is. Ample, locally hand crafted, custom seating provides space for everyone indoors, and the outdoor space is filled with tables, benches, and good ole porch swings. Dog and kiddo friendly space. The indoor couches even offer carabiners to clip in your furry companions. Oh, and I've gotten this far and forgot to mention the beer - duh - it's delightful! Simple and something for everyone - from crushable lagers to hoppy IPAs to citrusy witbiers. Prefer wine or non-alcoholic beverages - they have those options, too!  Absolutely recommend you give the wonderful team at Trellis a spin.

During an early 2025 trip to Washington, D.C., we went to multiple establishments and, coincidentally or not, encountered this specific bourbon and just loved it. The most notable occurrence was at Jack Rose Dining Saloon, where I had literally the best Old-Fashioned I've ever had, using a special Angel's Envy that hung out in some sherry barrels for a while. Since then, we've both regularly ordered it when given the opportunity, and ultimately decided that the best way to appreciate this fine spirit was to go right to the source. So to the mothership we went. My chum did most of the heavy lifting here and scheduled a bourbon tour with Louisville Food Tours (very strong recommend) that featured Angel's Envy at the first stop. It's hard to really put into words what this building looks like as you walk in and explore, but it's just so...nice. It's classy without being inaccessible, and it just felt like a true cathedral of bourbon. As tasteful as the bourbon it makes. During our initial tour, we were probably in the distillery for a solid half hour plus, getting a quick tour of the still and fermenters before being led into a side room on the second floor to formally taste some bourbon. Paula was our guide, both during this tour and later on, and was just enormously impressive, which I touched upon in my review of the official tour as well. She's no-nonsense and loves her bourbon - who can't relate? We learned how to inspect the bourbon in the glass, to take a test sip to numb the pain receptors and to truly appreciate the subtle notes in the bourbon with the second sip. It was legitimately helpful, useful information that we're both going to utilize going forward. After our three-hour tour ended (go hard or go home), it wasn't even much of a discussion - we came back here for a few hours to soak in more of the atmosphere and drink some more bourbon. At this point, it was probably close to 5ish but the place was still pretty busy; somehow we were able to secure spots at the bar upstairs and made ourselves at home. I wish I could remember the name of our bartender (blame the time that has elapsed, not the bourbon), but he was very good, social without being oppressive and was just present and let us do our thing. After sipping straight bourbon for most of the afternoon, I switched to the Bourbon Renewal, which you'll be shocked to know includes Angel's Envy but is a more summer, fruit-forward cocktail and super refreshing. Was the right call and hit the spot. (We also got waters because that's the responsible thing to do.) We finally went back downstairs to the gift shop, which doesn't feel like the right term - it was more majestic than something you'd walk into after going through, say, a museum for an hour or two. It's enormous and offers numerous bourbons and also some very high quality swag. We reunited with our chum Paula and sampled their limited edition two-grain, which was created due to a fortunate mistake in which the rye wasn't added so it's just the corn and malted barley. You CAN see the difference and taste it; to me at least, it's more caramel-y than their normal single barrel. We each bought a bottle to bring back to the homeland. My chum basically bought half the store, but I remained calm/deliberate and my only other purchase was a MAGNIFICENT black hoodie. I'm not kidding - I love hoodies and have probably owned dozens over the years, and this is literally the best quality one I've had. It has this interesting front pouch pocket design with like a pocket within the pocket for high-priority items like your ID or credit cards, and the hood itself is interesting. It's just really good and I wore it all day the next day as we slowly made our way back to the East Coast. It's been washed and carefully placed in my closet, where it will reign supreme when the weather inevitably turns nippy again. It's not an exaggeration to say we probably spent hundreds of dollars (at least not thousands) directly and indirectly involving Angel's Envy on this trip. Worth it.

There was a covered area that sports a bar set-up and plenty of space for the catering. Two bathrooms and a space for prep work. A sound system you can Blue-tooth into and tv's to show videos. There is an upstairs area, very similar but inside. The two spaces are separate but, for a small fee, the Greenhouse will hold the upstairs in case of inclement weather - we did this. Extremely rude and the fact that they didn't tell anyone they were scheduling random people to come in and look while a wedding was taking place was just really unprofessional.
