When they were wanting a job from me removing six trees I was told all roots would be removed with trees. After first two trees were removed, roots were left. I paid ahead of work being done as I had to go to work. When I called about remaining roots, I was told they would be removed next time they came out. With that comment it roped me into having to use them to remove my next trees and to deal with the roots hitting my mower. I had to wait about six months before having the money to have them remove 2 more trees. Again Cathy wanted the money before I saw the job completed as I had to go to work again before job was completed. I had mentioned there were many roots to be removed too. I was assured by Cathy they would be removed. Again, after the trees were removed, many roots were left. I called Cathy to inform her there were many roots left again. She said they would be removed next time they came over. This time it took me 2 years to get the money to have the last 2 trees removed. I was home the first day they came and was told they would come the next day to finish up but were told by Cathy to ask for the money now. I said no, I would pay after the job was done the next day. Cathy called me that night to see if I would pay when the company came out the next day. I asked if all the roots would be taken up as I had to leave for a Dr. appointment by noon and may not be there to see the completion of the job. She said yes or the roots would be removed the next time they would be in the area. I was not happy as I gave the check to the man the next day as he still had two stumps to remove and all the roots, remembering how I was treated the last two times they came out. Well, sure enough, when I returned and checked the work, there were some roots remaining, two jutting out of the yard, a danger for tripping over. I called and told Cathy that there were 2 tree roots left that were dangerous and sent her pics. Right away Cathy in an irritated voice said every time we come out all you do is complain. I recommend next time you need service you call someone else! I will take care of these roots myself with snipets! Her attitude and belittlement of me upset me! I remembered how I had been treated before and felt concerned about getting these roots removed. I cancelled the check to make sure my job was completed as she did not say when this would be taken care of. Her attitude made me feel she was just making fun of me. If instead, when I told her my concern, she had apologized and said it would be taken care of right away, I never would have cancelled the check or written this report. I have owned two businesses for over 10 years and I know you don't talk to or treat your customers this way. The next day I noticed the roots had been removed so called her and said I would write her another check as I wanted her to live up to her word. Told her also, I would tape the check on my door, which I did immediately. Her attitude remained hostile threatening to take me to court. When the check remained still on my door the next day at 11:06 am I texted her that I found 2 more roots but would deal with them and that the check was still on the door, so her urgency of having the check was not that urgent. If you decide still to use Monkey Tree's services NEVER pay them before the work is completed!!!! read more
