this place is a greedy ass organization!…read more their shelves are SO packed, the racks are so STUFFED you can hardly look through anything - and I bet it's because they charge $8 for a used, beaten up tank top and $12 for a used sweatshirt with a hole & 3 stains! Isn't the point of second hand / thrift the affordability & sustainability of these items??? Not at Hastings Salvation Army! They basically only care about the bottom line dollar. And for the record, I am an AVID second hand shopper! This is one of the WORST stores in the area & I wouldn't recommend it to my enemies.

If you're down to scrounge, this place might be for you (I'd just urge you to wash your hands after). That said, I specifically went here today because I needed a stapler. Mine went missing when I moved (probably in some box I've yet to unpack in my storage unit), and there's zero need to purchase a brand new stapler when I know I can get an old reliable Swingline from a thrift place like this (plus, I remembered on my first amble through here that they had a whole basket of staplers). Sure enough, I was able to acquire a stapler. But you can bet your ass that I brought along some staples to test out said staplers... the first one I picked up had a busted spring, but the second was fully functional. Both had been priced at $3. I mention this simply as a word of warning to consider testing before you buy.) I also picked up a bobbin thread case and a quart sized bag of crayons (both priced at $3) while I was there. This place is good for finding the kind of craft stuff your granny would keep around at a low price. And honestly, you're doing the environment a BIG favor to snag this kind of thing off a thrift store shelf rather than "convenience buy" it off Amazon or whatever. You can save money and feel good about yourself. The rest of the store has stuff like glassware, clothing, kids stuff, and holiday decor. It's not all amazing stuff. I reckon a lot of folks donate stuff they don't care to sort through when an elderly parent finally kicks it. The employee behind the checkout counter was a little slow to bother acknowledging me, but once we were interacting, they were friendly enough and wished me a good day; seemed like they were happy I actually bought something instead of just browsing.

I had never been to a Savers before and I just wanted to check it out. I didn't realize it was just like a Goodwill store, and they resell donated items. It was a fun adventure day. While I did see employees stocking merchandise, there didn't seem to be any dedicated to assist with questions. That said, if you need help just ask whoever you come across. The prices were overall good, but not as cheap as other second hand store (ie; Salvation Army store). In total I spent $28.81 for 4 items (pictured). While using the self checkout register, I noticed there were paper bags (only). However, it looked only my station included a few sheets of newspaper as well. Guess I was lucky because it came in hand for wrapping my fragile item. As I headed out, I also noted they had various sized corrugated boxes, which can be good for carrying goods. This was my first visit to a Savers and the experience was good.
