I was about to walk out the door and leave what I was buying right there on the counter, take my money and my additional donation out the door with me until a very friendly customer offered to make change for me. I talked to the "manager" and she was not a friendly person and was rather condescending. This new policy of hers is going to end up costing them a LOT of money in lost sales and credit card charges. Her excuse was that they are a non-profit and therefore can not keep very much cash on hand for making change. This is the first time I have ever seen ANY non-profit unwilling to make change for a $50. This new policy will certainly make me think twice about going there in the future.

They have a great book section, and their general household section is pretty big. They also have a lot of furniture to peruse. The people who work here are nice, just incredibly busy. The parking lot is a bit of a nightmare and, aside from being out in Springfield, is the only drawback to this location. It is tough to get out of and finding a spot can be challenging even in the middle of a weekday. I don't come here super often, but I like to stop by when I'm in the area. The books [category, but way spacious to look], DVDs, CDs, stationary, seasonal decor, shoes [by color not size, then by category], photo frames, cups, furniture, clothes are all on racks with clear signs, and etc. They do have a good handful of jewelry and other speciality items in cases. It was easy to find a helpful and friendly employee to ask for an item in the case. [Price]: I do think depending on what the item is, St.Vinnies is cheaper than Goodwill. At Vinnies, most of the items are a flat price. Such as books, buttons, cards, clothes,and magazines. I ended up buying a handful of books and magazines, and spent about $30. That was after 2 employees turned their backs to me and walked away, once I told them I wasn't trying to buy anything else. Store credit? No, thanks, I'm good. Most of the inventory looks to have been "acquired" from Springfield's hard working tweeker community in the first place, and, were I so inclined, I could just get it from them, in the parking lot outside. And hey, as a bonus, if I paid the aforementioned hard worker twice what the store would have, I would still only be paying half what the store would've charged me.

It's one of those M&M candy dispensers, where it's basically the giant M&M character (in this case, the yellow one) sitting in a recliner, and you pull his arm or something and it dispenses candy. I found it funny and cute. There's a a wide variety of stuff in here. Star Wars collectibles, knives, records, comic books, you name it. If you can think of it, they've probably got it in here. The guy working in there (I'm presuming the owner since it's such a small shop) was friendly and talked with us as we were buying our stuff. Would I return? Certainly. I only turned around when my friend mentioned they had zines, and they were lovely! I bought a Queer Animal coloring book and my friend purchased some very vintage sunglasses. I also saw some amazing hand crafted jewelry there and some very unique shoes. There was SO much to look at that my eyes would breeze past something and then the second round notice there was another thing! My friend said the shop is good for ADHD and I agree. It's a really cute unique feeling place. I would recommend and would go again :) For the easily confused- this is upstairs, there's a stairway outside leading up. It's just past the dispensary :)
