This park has many nice open space areas for recreation including a splash pad and baseball diamond. They hold festivals here and most recently their Merry Market Christmas fest which I also went to last year. It's a good space for vendors and food trucks and entertainment to gather. Parking is right beside the park and if it's a big event, it can be a challenge to find parking. It's nice they have this space. I do love Madeira Beach, & this festival and fireworks is great. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024 is their Xmas Boat parade in this same location with their market.

If you are looking for more reasons to love Madeira Beach (LOL as if you need anything more than the stellar sunsets and cool local businesses of the whole middle beaches area.) this is certainly one of them. This park is tucked into the inner coastal, turn just before the library and there you are! My only ~words of warning~ are that the speed bumps are BRUTAL. The Sunset Vista Trailhead Park sign gives the back-story for the funding & origination of this park: "Property for Sunset Vista Trailhead Park was purchased with funding from the Florida Communities Trust Preservation 2000 Program, and assistance of the Trust for Public Land. Construction of the Park was funded in part with Natural Resource Damage Funds recovered by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for Public Recreational Losses caused by the 1993 Tampa Bay Oil Spill." The Sunset Vista Park has bike racks, showers, 2 long boardwalk walkways for getting to the beach, and a pavilion that provides ample room and seating for those who do not wish to walk down to the beach. There is a 2 mile Beach Nature Trail that winds along Sunset Beach's dunes with display signs telling you about the fragile dune ecology. Treasure islands coastal dunes have 3 vegetation zones. The frontal zone has sea oats, beach sunflowers, railroad vines, beach morning glory, American sea rockets which have tough root systems to help stabilize the dune. In the back dune zone, palmetto, wax Myrtle, cabbage palm, and sea grapes colonize the dune. I was surprised to see that Raccoons live among the dunes and saw some Nice Wild Red Dune flowers in bloom w Yellow Tips! If you're looking for an easy spot to park at Sunset Beach in Treaure Island close to Caddys Beach for only $2 per hour, I highly recommend parking by Sunset Vista Park as it is a lot better option than paying $25 to park at Caddys if the Pelican lot is full. Sunset Vista Park is a great spot to learn about dune and go for a hike or enjoy the beach without a lot of music or people!

This is a pretty nice park. It is all fenced which is nice. One section has exercise equipment…read morefor the adults (although kids try some of them also). My only issue with this side is there is one piece of equipment that I cannot figure out how to use. Wish there was some signs with instructions or illustrations for each piece of equipment. Other part of park is for the kids. One section seems like a toddler area with baby swings nearby. There are also 2 regular swings in this section. In the middle are lots of climbing type pieces with a section with a slide. There are at least 3 spin type pieces and one "elevator" type piece you have to climb up to the step area. This is not obvious so my great niece had to watch someone else do it before she figured out how it worked. After that it was her favorite thing to do. The slide only has a bar type climb access which is not great if you have a kid that prefers steps or is smaller. There is a slide in the toddler area that is easier to get up to but a smaller length slide. Overall we enjoyed coming to this playground. It has wood chips on the ground and is fairly shaded. There is parking for about 6 vehicles which seemed adequate when we were there. It is at the end of a neighborhood and runs along Gulfport Blvd. I recommend trying this location especially if you are near this area.

They had the sand sculptures up and it was amazing. Truly beautiful and incredible to see in person. The beach itself is clean, well kept, and absolutely gorgeous. Parking was not too hard to find and it was reasonably priced, which is always a plus. You can also tell they really cleaned up well after the hurricane. Everything looked great and it was such a nice place to spend the day. I will always recommend this beach.

Paying for parking immediately. Set the tone, especially since there's nothing particularly special about this beach. On top of that, I didn't realize until after I paid for parking that it's not dog friendly, which feels ridiculous for such a wide open public space. Sand, I did venture out for a while and the sound was ultra fine which super annoying. The views are okay and it wasn't crowded which is nice but now I know why. Most of the people I saw were much older and were fully dressed walking on the pathway and not really utilizing the beach. There are so many beaches in Florida. I'm not sure why anyone comes here. Nothing stood out or made us want to stay or really justified all the inconveniences. This beach is just meh and if you're close by ok but definitely not worth going out of your way for.

Most of the buildings are still closed/roped off due to damages. It's December; it's winter; so all the water around here is churned up & not clear, looks dirty. It is always like this after the Hurricane season. Always looks dirty, till one day, poof! Like magic; it's clear again. Hopefully the Pavilion & park will be rebuilt & much improved by spring. The Sunset Beach Pavilion has restrooms, showers, a shaded open-air picnic area with 6 picnic tables, a vending area, and a shaded playground with slides, swings, and a rock climbing wall. The facilities are wheelchair & handicap accessible. There are 3 different parking lots close to this area that provide plenty of parking, even on busy days. Sunset Beach Pavilion's operating hours are 8am to 10pm, No Grills are Provided, and alcohol is permitted. With the large space, I really wish they would have added a concession stand with food and drinks. If there isn't a wedding here, the venue pretty much goes unused with the exception of the bathrooms and the beach area. The Sunset Beach Pavilion is an affordable and lovely outdoor wedding venue available for rent for parties up to 80. It costs only $200.00 for residents and $300 for non-residents for a 6 hour reception rental, during the operational hours from 8am to sunset. Sunset Beach Pavilion's wedding reception related amenities include a service bar, rest rooms, wooden bridge entryways to the beach, beach & surf background at the rocks, electricity and picnic benches with bench seats. To make the venue more upscale, wedding planners can add their own decorations, such as white table-cloths, sparkling lights, and beach themed centerpieces.

This latest addition features three mosaic tile artists who collaborated to create a Florida themed linear treat. The park has plenty of shade trees, a few benches, and a sidewalk around two sides of the park. There are a few parking spaces as well as street parking along the western park border. Bring your lunch or grab something at one of the nearby restaurants and enjoy the sunset over the water.
