The one we had in Budapest had thicker dough strips than the one here and honestly I preferred this one.

We got attracted to this bakery after seeing their roll making display at the front of the store. There were more pastry options inside the store, but we just got an ice cream in the roll. I'm not crazy about their traditional TRDLO (that's an actual word), but it's def much better than the ones you'll find at the stalls in the central town square. This is much lighter, fresher and less sugar dusted on it. It's like a hollow piece of circular pastry and the only thing I can compare it to is a cinnamon roll. Try it. Everything is so affordable, but if you're REALLY broke (in Prague?!), go to a grocery store for your cheap snack.

This treat is made from rolled dough that is wrapped around a stick that is grilled and topped with sugar and walnut mix. Great by itself or with ice cream, I may or may not have had this treat multiple times a day during my stay in Prague (whoops). With multiple stands located on each street, it's hard to tell which is the best or what makes each place unique amongst its competitors. Overall, I found this place to be good (though not the best one) so I have no complaints. The chimney cake is grilled nicely to achieve a nice crunch, while the vanilla ice cream that they put inside is like no other!!  The ice cream is not too sweet and has a uniqueness about it that rivals vanilla ice cream from America. You also have the choice to add various toppings such as strawberry, chocolate drizzle, or apple and cinnamon to finish it all off! I love trdelnik, it is definitely a must-eat when you are in Prague. Just be careful--if you are like me, you might find yourself eating it multiple times a day ha ha.... :)

We got raspberry with whipped cream and cinnamon apples. The chimney cake itself was delicious, such a tasty dough not overly sweet. The raspberry powder around the rim is so tart. And I really do enjoy tart fruit, but this just doesn't go with the rest of the flavors which are warmer more cinnamon flavors. The whipped cream has zero sweetness, it felt like it need a little bit something extra added to make it stand out. The apples were nice though, and went well with the cake.
