A definite must in Prague…read more We were in town for a couple of days, and everyone was raving about them. We finally went out after dinner on our last night to find a cart and make sure we got ourselves one. They "cone" is very similar to a Mexican churro, bread seasoned with cinnamon and sugar cooked over charcoal. We got ours filled with vanilla ice cream, which in itself was pretty amazing to. It was very light, almost like whip cream though it was ice cram. My husband and I shared ours, though I could of went for one on my own. Definitely a must try.

Even though it's not originally Czech, I think it's actually not bad if you think of it as a cinnamon bun with toppings. I got the pistachio one (150 CZK) with ice cream (60 CZK), so 210 CZK total. It's a bit pricey, but by NYC standards, that's pretty typical city pricing for about $10 USD. Honestly, I kind of liked it. Give it a shot. It might surprise you. The ice cream was milky, and the bun was fresh, warm, and coated in sugar. Service was quick and there was no line at night.

We got attracted to this bakery after seeing their roll making display at the front of the store. There were more pastry options inside the store, but we just got an ice cream in the roll. I'm not crazy about their traditional TRDLO (that's an actual word), but it's def much better than the ones you'll find at the stalls in the central town square. This is much lighter, fresher and less sugar dusted on it. It's like a hollow piece of circular pastry and the only thing I can compare it to is a cinnamon roll. Try it. Everything is so affordable, but if you're REALLY broke (in Prague?!), go to a grocery store for your cheap snack.

Walking through Prague and noticed chimney cakes are everywhere so we knew we had to try one!…read moreWe stopped in here while walking along the street to try our first one. We got raspberry with whipped cream and cinnamon apples. The chimney cake itself was delicious, such a tasty dough not overly sweet. The raspberry powder around the rim is so tart. And I really do enjoy tart fruit, but this just doesn't go with the rest of the flavors which are warmer more cinnamon flavors. The whipped cream has zero sweetness, it felt like it need a little bit something extra added to make it stand out. The apples were nice though, and went well with the cake. The staff was fine, got our order together quickly, nothing exceptional. The store was clean and well kept, but really needed some music!
